Ascot Stakes 2027 Betting Odds

It appears that the royal horse is going to be sent off as favourite to win the Ascot Stakes, with Reaching High returning after a year in a bid to land a Day One victory. It will be interesting to see whether the five-year-old can rediscover impressive form, although Kilmeaden might be a safer each-way pick and the four-year-old has a solid track record.

We like the chances of Valedictory who claimed a victory last time out and the four-year-old has solid credentials for John & Thady Gosden, with Puturhandstogether looking like a five-year-old who can place for Joseph O'Brien. There are a clutch of horses trading at around the 12/1 mark and that includes Ascending and Bunting.

2026 Ascot Stakes Betting Tips

Valedictory is the horse we're interested in backing when it comes to the Ascot Stakes. The horse should operate well over two miles and four furlongs, with the runner previously scoring as the 11/4 favourite in a one mile and six furlong handicap. The horse took well to the good ground after unseating his rider at the start of the race and there could be more to come.

There was previously a slightly disappointing effort at Ascot in early May when falling short in a handicap, with that coming after a better display at Newbury where a neck stopped the horse obliging over a mile and two furlongs. It does appear as though Valedictory will benefit from a longer trip although it's Reaching High who is trading as favourite.

Willie Mullins saddles a five-year-old who will go off as market leader, with the horse having been out of action for a year. The runner was sent off as the favourite for the 2025 Ascot Stakes and ended up finishing ninth. Part of the problem was a lack of clear run at the end of the encounter, with that coming after a bright effort at Leopardstown.

Kilmeaden followed up a seventh-placed effort on a seasonal debut before winding up to finish third in a more recent encounter. That was in a field of twenty-four horses where the horse performed well over a mile and six furlongs. The fact that the runner kept on well means we may see stamina come to the fore in this race.
