Hamish is the oldest horse in the Chester Stakes and he’s also the favourite. The nine-year-old was able to score at Goodwood at the beginning of June and hasn’t run since. Sam Hawkens is the most interesting runner in the field. The horse was able to oblige as the 4/1 favourite at Goodwood at the beginning of August, with that coming after a mid-June success at Hamilton. There was also a victory at Newcastle on the all-weather at Newcastle, with the horse now bidding for a four-timer.
