2022 Prix Jacques Le Marois Betting Odds at Deauville racecourse

Sunday, 14 August 2022

Palace Pier has won the past two renewals of the Prix Jacques Le Marois at Deauville, with nine runners declared for the 2022 race which is taking place this coming Sunday. Inspiral is one of the bottom weight horses and there is plenty to like about the John Gosden-trained runner who recently had her colours lowered.

Coroebus is another viable contender and Charlie Appleby has an exciting runner on his hand, with two wins under his belt already, while it might not be just a two-horse race. State Of Rest is trading at a backable each-way price for Joseph O’Brien and we’re intrigued to see which horse comes out on top.

2022 Prix Jacques Le Marois Tips

Coroebus has won four of his five races during a highly successful career, with the three-year-old bidding for a third straight win of the current season. There was a 5/1 success in the Qipco 2000 Guineas Stakes where there was a win by nearly a length over Native Trail who was his hotly-fancied stablemate.

That was over a distance of one mile and that’s the same distance as the Prix Jacques Le Marois, with Coroebus then sent off as the 10/11 favourite before obliging in the St James’ Palace Stakes. This was another Group One encounter, with 28/1 outsider Lusail having pushed the market leader close.

Inspiral is another Royal Ascot winner by virtue of claiming the spoils in the Coronation Stakes, with the filly being sent off at 15/8 before obliging by nearly five lengths and that was also over a distance of one mile. However, the horse was then beaten as the 1/7 favourite on her next outing.

Many punters steered clear of backing the John Gosden-trained runner given that she was such a short price, with Prosperous Voyage able to land the spoils and there could be further improvement needed if she is to land a victory in Deauville.

Prosperous Voyage is also entered in this race and perhaps the latter is capable of another big run at a backable each-way price, with State Of Rest also needing to be respected and the 5/1 win in the Price of Wales’s Stakes when seeing off odds-on favourite Bay Bridge.
