A maximum of twenty runners line up in the Gillies Fillies' Stakes, with Danielle bidding to secure her first win of the season. John & Thady Gosden saddle a runner who was fifth at Ascot last time out. That effort came in the British Champions Fillies and Mares race in what was a competitive field, with that coming after finishing fourth at Doncaster.
On that occasion, the mare was sent off as the favourite in the Betfred Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes, with that coming after the horse was second in the Lillie Langtry Stakes. That Goodwood effort saw the horse narrowly miss out on victory, although Azaniya also boasts strong form and has racked up some impressive wins.
Owen Burrows saddles a three-year-old who has claimed a victory in three of the previous four showings. The latest success was in France where a two-length win was recorded at Compiegne. Back in the summer, there were other successes at Newmarket and Windsor. Anna Swan is a slightly bigger priced alternative who could go well.
William Haggas saddles a runner who finished second out of fourteen horses at Yarmouth, with the 14/1 shot performing well over one mile and two furlongs. Day Of Grace will step up in class and she has recorded a hat-trick of successes, with those coming at Thirsk, Goodwood and Newbury. She looks like each-way potential.
