2024 Main Novices Hurdle Betting Odds at Doncaster racecourse

Saturday, 27 January 2024

We’re looking forward to this showdown at Doncaster Racecourse, with Jeriko Du Reponet potentially the class horse in the field. It would seem likely that the Nicky Henderson-trained runner will take all the beating at the current odds, with back-to-back victories being achieved for a horse who hasn’t yet put a foot wrong.

However, Jango Baie is his stablemate who also boasts solid credentials and will be carrying more weight in his quest for glory. There is then a jump in the prices to the other runners and they include Fiercely Proud and Lump Sum, with Act Of Authority operating for trainer Olly Murphy who has claimed two wins in his three outings this season.

2024 Supreme Trial Rossington Main Novices' Hurdle Tips

Jeriko Du Reponet is a horse who boasts bags of ability and the horse racing betting sites are taking few chances with their quotes about the runner when it comes to the SBK Supreme Trial Rossington Main Novices' Hurdle. The five-year-old has recorded back-to-back wins and the latest of these came at Newbury over two miles, half a furlong.

However, this will be a sterner test for a horse who goes up against stablemate Jango Baie and there’s plenty of confidence to be drawn from consecutive wins at Ascot and Aintree, with the latest of these wins coming in the William Hill Formby Novices' Hurdle. Sent off at racing betting odds of 17/2, this horse produced a solid display of jumping to land the spoils.

Fiercely Proud was able to land successive wins and the Ben Pauling-trained five-year-old deserves plenty of respect, with the horse having claimed wins at Hereford and Taunton. The latest of these came over two miles, half a furlong where the horse obliged and there could be more to come from a runner who won at Hereford as a 7/2 shot.

Lump Sum was able to record back-to-back wins and the Sam Thomas-trained runner was triumphant at Ffos Las before following this up with a success at Wincanton in December. Perhaps we didn’t learn a great deal about this last performance considering the horse was sent off as the 1/4 favourite and the winning distance was only a length.
