Sceptre Stakes 2026 Betting Odds

Sunday 13 September 2026 · Doncaster · By Matthew Glazier · Last updated

Forty Years On looks to tick all the right boxes and the four-year-old can certainly oblige for a third consecutive time this season. George Scott’s charge is a quality operator and is preferred ahead of Touleen. The three-year-old runs for Owen Burrows and has failed to land a victory in any of the four outings this term.

Moon Target is also awaiting a first win of the season, with Sir Mark Prescott saddling his horse with a lively chance of success. The runner has been hitting the frame regularly this term, with The Prettiest Star having each-way claims for Ed Walker. Arabian Dusk may also be able to build on a third-placed finish last time out.

Sceptre Fillies' Stakes Betting Tips

The Japan Racing Association Sceptre Fillies' Stakes is a Group Three encounter and it’s the fourth race out of seven on the Doncaster card. Forty Years On has been in the winning habit for the past couple of seasons and is now bidding for a third consecutive victory. There was a June win at Newbury when the 5/2 favourite was able to secure a three-length success.

At the end of August, Forty Years On really turned on the style when getting the job done at Goodwood by two lengths. The runner was able to secure a fourth victory across five races, with victories occurring at Haydock and Ascot last term. We’re confident that the horse will go close in this Group 3 encounter.

Touleen is trained by Owen Burrows and the horse began the campaign with a runner-up finish although she has failed to win any of the subsequent three efforts. The horse ran well at Newmarket at a big price in the 1,000 Guineas Stakes. There was a runner-up showing at Royal Ascot in the Coronation Stakes before mitigating circumstances led to a fourth-placed finish in the Valiant Stakes.

Moon Target has appeared three times this term and the three-year-old could well figure in the shake-up. At massive odds of 33/1, the horse was fourth in a field of nine at Royal Ascot. That was in the Coronation Stakes before a compelling effort in the Prix Rothschild where there was a fantastic effort at a big price.
