2026 Doomben 10000 Betting Odds at Doomben racecourse

Saturday, 16 May 2026

Can anyone beat Jimmysstar in the Doomben 10,000? The bookies have installed the Ciaran Maher-trained charge as the favourite to land the prize money in Brisbane, although there are lots of other lively contenders and the favourite has failed to oblige in the previous three encounters. It's a race which has been in operation since 1933.

Briasa could prove to be the best each-way contender and has strong credentials, with Grafterburners operating at a similar price. There are lots of potential winners in the field and it's one of the most open Doomben 10,000 renewals we've had in the past few years. Look out for price boosts and extra places from an each-way point-of-view.

2026 Doomben 10,000 Betting Tips

Jimmysstar was on target twice back in November and has strong credentials when it comes to the Doomben 10,000. There was firstly a victory at Randwick when the 6/4 favourite was able to score in a conditions encounter over six and a half furlongs. Two weeks later, there was a triumph in the Sportsbet C F Orr Stakes and that was a Group One race.

However, 2026 hasn't been as convincing so far. At Caulfield in March, the horse underwhelmed as the favourite when finishing seventh in the Ladbrokes William Reid Stakes. There was then a midfield effort in the T J Smith Stakes over six furlongs where the charge was hampered at the start of the race.

Briasa may well hit the frame in this race based on a previous effort. The horse was sent off at odds of 17/1 in a field of thirteen runners before managing to land fourth place. In the Schweppes All Aged Stakes, the charge was less than two lengths off the pace and that was an improvement on a previous showing at Randwick Racecourse.

Grafterburners runs for Kelly Schweida and was able to finish third out of nine runners over six furlongs recently. That was at Randwick on 11 April, with the 7/1 shot only two lengths behind winner Tempted. There had previously been two smart efforts at Eagle Farm and perhaps we'll see the horse finally make the winners' enclosure.
