Nightline could certainly have the beating of her rivals and there's been a 50% success rate for a three-year-old filly. Her Oaks credentials have been underlined by four victories in the space of eight outings, with the latest effort being a win in the Golden Bracelet. This came after a solid third-placed showing in the Listed Princess Stakes and there could be a bold showing in this race.
Panova appears to be hitting form at exactly the right time. The 10/1 shot was able to score in a field of sixteen runners towards the end of April. It was a solid showing at Morphettville when scoring by a single length and it came after a lower ranked effort at Rosehill. Two weeks previously, the horse achieved a midfield finish at the same track.
Single Red was third out of seventeen runners at Ellerslie towards the end of February when running well over a mile and four furlongs. Andrew Forsman has seen his charge produce a number of other bright efforts and the bookies have installed the horse as one of the market leaders. Perhaps an each-way bet can be considered when it comes to this filly.
Solid Gold could also be a strong contender, with Roger James and Robert Wellwood saddling a horse who could be on an upward curve ahead of the Rough Habit Plate at Doomben before building up for the Queensland Oaks. There was an impressive maiden victory over 1,600 metres at Ellerslie in early April and there will be price boosts available.
2025 Queensland Oaks Betting Tips
Philia is favourite to win the Queensland Oaks. The three-year-old has landed a couple of notable wins already this term. The last success came at Doomben at the end of May. Sent off at odds of 27/10, there was a half-length triumph and that came after a success at Eagle Farm a month previously when scoring at 19/5.
The former success came in the Group Two The Roses, with the horse able to edge out Jenni’s Meadow over one mile and two furlongs. There was also a win in the Princess Stakes over one mile on soft ground. Pinito was beaten into second place, with the two runners set to clash again in this encounter.
Benagil is also among the market leaders and will look to improve after a tenth-placed finish last time out. The 5/2 favourite wasn’t able to make an impression in The Roses although some punters might want to take a chance on the Glen Thompson-trained charge. There was a late April success at Morphettville.
Nathan Doyle saddles Churchill’s Choice and there was a solid effort in The Roses at Doomben, with this race being a barometer of this upcoming encounter. At odds of 17/1, the horse was fourth out of sixteen and that came after a second-placed effort in a field of thirteen at Eagle Farm. There was also an April effort at Randwick Racecourse.
