2026 Fitzdares Harroways Handicap Betting Tips
Startled is the worthy favourite in the Fitzdares Harroways Handicap on Saturday, with Richard Hughes hoping that his charge continues the winning habit at Goodwood. The runner first caught the eye at Lingfield Park in February. Sent off at odds of 28/1, the charge was able to run into a place to finish third in a field of twelve runners.
Even better was to come when claiming an April success at Newmarket. In a seven-furlong handicap, the 15/2 shot was able to get up by a neck to oblige. He kept on well in the final furlong and the horse then notched a victory at York a month later. Over the same distance, the run recovered from being hampered to win by a length and a half.
Reciprocated was third on a seasonal debut this term when appearing at Pontefract, with the Karl Burke-trained horse having previously been disappointing at Ayr back in September. Indeed, the runner has failed to win any of the past four outings since obliging at Carlisle Racecourse back in June and can be passed over for other selections in the race.
Wechaad is carrying a little more weight and returns for the new season with lots of potential. Back in October, there was a third-placed finish at Newbury although this was preceded by a win at Doncaster a month earlier. There had also been a second-placed finish at Newbury and we think the runner could be each-way value.
