Adonius has been a three-time winner already and we’re expecting the Rebecca Menzies-trained runner to be prominent in the Molecomb Stakes. The horse began with an early April win at Musselburgh when catching the eye with a seven-length success. The horse then returned to the Scottish track to oblige as the even money favourite in a field of four.
The more notable success came last time out. In a five furlong conditions stakes race at Chester, Adonius took well to the good ground at the Roodee. That was a competitive outing where the horse was ridden out, although some might prefer the chances of Pershaada who ran well twice on the all-weather before taking to turf.
Richard Hannon saddles a runner who was last seen running really well at Royal Ascot. The horse proved to be no slouch when landing fourth spot out of twenty-seven in the Queen Mary Stakes. It was a fine performance at big odds, with that coming after a May success at Goodwood and we’re expecting a strong challenge this time out.
Ruler’s Pride was a May winner at Ayr before delivering a sub-par performance in the Group Two Coventry Stakes over six furlongs. There was a win for Crownbreaker last time out when delivering an early June performance at Deauville in the Prix Yacowlef. The horse might prefer more cut in the ground considering that effort was on good to soft ground.
