2022 Nassau Stakes Betting Odds at Goodwood racecourse

Thursday, 28 July 2022

The Qatar Nassau Stakes takes place over one mile and two furlongs, with this Group 1 encounter forming part of the British Champions Series. The leading fillies and mares will battle it out over a relatively long distance at the Glorious Goodwood meeting, with Nashwa aiming to show that she’s the real deal.

However, her stablemate also looks like a stunning contender and Inspiral could be the horse to emerge with a victory. There is a huge prize of nearly £350,000 on the table for the winner and La Petite Coco has also been clocking up the wins.

2022 Nassau Stakes Tips

Nashwa has claimed three wins in four races this season and she has bold claims when it comes to the 2022 Nassau Stakes, with John Gosden having high hopes for his three-year-old at the Glorious Goodwood Festival. On 19 June, the horse was able to win the Prix de Diane Longines by a short neck.

Hollie Doyle is likely to be on board the horse to compete in this one mile and two furlong encounter, with the horse having previously run third in the Epsom Oaks. Having been sent off at betting odds of 4/1, she was beaten by Tuesday and Emily Upjohn on that occasion.

Inspiral is another John Gosden-trained runner that needs to be respected, with the three-year-old boasting an unbeaten record in her career to date. It has been five straight wins and Frankie Dettori was able to ride the charge to a victory in the Coronation Stakes at the Royal Ascot meeting.

On that occasion, the horse was triumphant by nearly five lengths making this an outstanding performance and there was a victory in the bet365 Fillies’ Mile although La Petite Coco could actually oblige as a four-year-old and there was plenty to like about her win in the Pretty Polly Stakes at The Curragh.

Love and Snowfall Betting Favourites for 2021 Nassau Stakes

The 2021 Nassau Stakes takes place on 29 July 2021, with this being run over one mile and two furlongs on a right-handed track. The purse is nearly £350,000 for the winner of the race, with this attracting plenty of star names and trainers.

Love is high in the Nassau Stakes betting market, with this filly having proven untouchable in the past couple of seasons and Aidan O’Brien has a potential superstar on his hands, with a victory in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes marking him out for greatness after a cracking ride by Ryan Moore.

Love previously claimed a sensational hat-trick in 2020, with the Irish raider having landed victory in the 1,000 Guineas, Epsom Oaks and the Darley Yorkshire Oaks, so there is every chance we’ll see the filly follow up her 2021 success at Ascot with another win here.

However, Snowfall could also be a leading contender, with the three-year-old beating the highly-fancied Noon Star in the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes on 12 May before kicking on to secure a victory in the Cazoo Oaks, with this meaning that we’ll see the highly-rated fillies going head to head.

Who Are the Other 2021 Nassau Stakes Challengers?

Audarya is an interesting five-year-old who has run once this season and the James Fanshawe-trained runner was close to Love in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes and could be capable of running an even bigger race at Goodwood, having previously won the Breeders Cup Fillies and Mares Turf at Keeneland back in November.

Wonderful Tonight is another interesting runner and the horse is certainly capable of building on a victory in the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot, with the William Buick-trained charge having fended off Broome for that particular win.

The History of the Goodwood Nassau Stakes

The recent running of the Nassau Stakes has seen a clutch of three-year-olds all claim a victory, with Fancy Blue winning for trainer Donnacha O’Brien in 2020, while Winter, Minding and Wild Illusion are other three-year-olds who have recently been victorious.

There have been multiple winners of the Nassau Stakes which includes Midday who claimed a consecutive hat-trick of wins during the Glorious Goodwood Festival between 2009-2011. Henry Cecil pulled off a brilliant training achievement although Aidan O’Brien has also proved successful in recent years.
