2023 Richmond Stakes Betting Odds at Goodwood racecourse

Thursday, 03 August 2023

We’re intrigued by a big field that will line up in the Richmond Stakes, with as many as twenty-six runners lining up for an encounter over the distance of six furlongs. This Group 2 encounter will certainly take some winning and Jasour is an obvious candidate to put in a decent showing, with Unquestionable another candidate with strong credentials.

The latter was second last time out after previously winning, with Vandeek also among the market leaders and this horse was successful on its only outing of the campaign. His Majesty is a more experienced campaigner which has been installed as one of the market leaders, with Kylian potentially lining up although the horse has multiple entries.

2023 Richmond Stakes Tips

There are as many as twenty-six horses lining up for the Richmond Stakes on Thursday 3 August, with Jasour an intriguing runner who is bidding to secure a third consecutive victory. The two-year-old was sent off at odds of 16/1 in the Kingdom of Bahrain July Cup Stakes before the horse was able to secure a two length victory against the field.

This came after an 8/11 victory at Nottingham at the beginning of June, with Unquestionable having serious credentials of his own and it was only a short head which prevented the horse from winning the Railway Stakes at the Curragh on 2 July, with the runner having obliged as the odds-on favourite to win a Maiden race at the same course.

Vandeek has only enjoyed one outing so far and that resulted in a success at Nottingham in. Maiden Stakes race, although it’s not clear as to whether that will lead to further glory for trainer Simon & Ed Crisford, while His Majesty has more form to go off and there was a second-placed finish in the Prix Robert Papin at Chantilly Racecourse.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained runner previously finished third in the Railway Stakes behind Unquestionable and there could be more to come from Sketch who claimed a five-length win over six furlongs when travelling well at Newbury Racecourse on good ground. Asadna and Lake Forest have also been successful this season.
