2024 Stayers Hurdle Series Final Betting Odds at Haydock Park racecourse

Saturday, 30 March 2024

There’s a big race taking place at Haydock Park in the form of the Stayers Hurdle Series Final, with Astronomic View running for trainer Sue Gardner and she will have daughter Lucy Gardner riding this seven-year-old. There has been some solid form although the same can be said for Shoeshine Boy who has been in the winners’ enclosure on the past two visits.

Goshhowposh runs for trainer Philip Hobbs and it will be interesting to see how the horse bounces back from being pulled up last time out. Secret Trix has been impressing and the runner is also trading at single figure betting odds, with Doughmore Boy a talented six-year-old who runs for Emma Lavelle.

2024 Stayers Hurdle Series Final Tips

There are thirteen runners lining up in the Stayers Hurdle Series Final and this means that there could be some each-way betting value, with the majority of runners standing a chance of landing a place in the frame. This includes favourite Astronomic View who was able to land a victory in his previous encounter.

The seven-year-old was victorious at Warwick when achieving a twenty-one length win and that came after finishing third out of thirteen runners at Ascot Racecourse. On that occasion, it was a solid performance over nearly three miles and there could be some merit in backing the runner each-way for this encounter.

Shoeshine Boy could be the one to back, with successive victories coming for an eight-year-old who is trained by Donald Williams. Carrying 10-3 means that this horse could be well handicapped and the latest win came at Kelso. The runner fended off nine other rivals and that came after a previous success at Ayr Racecourse.

The other horse that really catches the eye is Secret Trix who hasn’t been out of the first two in the past five races. The latest outing was back in October when there was a runner-up spot behind Equinus at Aintree, with this coming after finishing second at Worcester. Previously to this, there was a brace of wins at Southwell and a triumph at Uttoxeter.
