2025 Superior Mile Stakes Betting Tips
Opera Ballo has the highest official rating in the Superior Mile Stakes, with the Charlie Appleby-trained runner having produced a sterling effort at Newmarket in July. The 11/8 favourite was able to achieve a comfortable victory and that came after a triumph at Sandown Park at the end of May where another easy win was achieved.
Previously to this, there was a lowly finish when landing sixth out of nine runners in the bet365 Craven Stakes, although the horse has since bounced back to be in the winners’ enclosure on two occasions. There were consecutive wins at Kempton on the all-weather earlier in the year, with the horse likely to be all the rage.
Make Me King is an older adversary and he’s trained by Hamad Al Jehani. There was a success at Pontefract at the end of July, with that coming before a more competitive race at Goodwood. Sent off as the 5/2 favourite, the horse failed to make an impression where the horse was beaten into fourth out of six runners in the Celebration Mile Stakes.
Ice Max has run four times this season without any success. The four-year-old was last seen finishing second last at Goodwood although that was in the competitive Celebration Mile Stakes. That came after finishing sixth out of ten runners in the Prix Messidor at Chantilly, with that coming after a supreme effort at Epsom in the Diomed Stakes.
2023 Superior Mile Stakes Tips
There are lots of potential winners when it comes to the 2023 Superior Mile Stakes, with Light Infantry having run well in the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques le Marois last month. Having finished third in the Deauville encounter, the horse was only beaten by Inspiral and favourite Big Rock, with Jamie Spencer giving the runner a decent spin.
There was also a third placed finish in the Queen Anne Stakes where the 14/1 shot was able to run home behind Triple Time and Inspiral, with the runner having finished second in the Prix d'Ispahan. Aldaary is a talented five-year-old who finished fourth out of five in the Qatar Sussex Stakes over one mile although firmer ground might be more to his liking.
Chindit was sent off as the 2/1 favourite in the BetVictor Hungerford Stakes although the Richard Hannon-trained runner could only land third place behind Witch Hunter and New Endeavour. The horse also ran in the Queen Anne Stakes to finish in sixth place, although some punters might instead prefer the chances of Zoology.
The three-year-old ran really well in the Jersey Stakes when finishing second at racing betting odds of 22/1, with the horse finishing fourth in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury back in April. Regal Reality won the Betfred Diomed Stakes over one mile, half a furlong. That was an impressive win in the Group 3 encounter and this could be each-way value.
