2025 Kauto Star Novices Chase Betting Odds at Kempton Park racecourse

Friday, 26 December 2025

There are eight horses lining up in the Kauto Star Novices' Chase and the first four are all similarly priced. Jimmy Du Seuil and Kitzbuhel line up for trainer Willie Mullins, with the bookies struggling to split the stablemates. The former might be the one to beat and the six-year-old has racked up a couple of victories already this term.

The latter landed a victory on a seasonal debut and may be capable of fine progress, with Salver also boasting some decent form. Gary & Josh Moore saw their charge in the winners' enclosure last time out, with Wendigo hard to ignore. The horse runs for Jamie Snowden, with the six-year-old running strongly in the previous appearance.

2025 Kauto Star Novices' Chase Betting Tips

There's going to be a competitive tussle on Boxing Day when the runners and riders line up in the Kauto Star Novices' Chase. Jimmy Du Seuil is a six-year-old who claimed a notable win at Fairyhouse at the end of November, with this coming after a Cheltenham Festival victory back in March. That came in the Coral Cup over two miles and five furlongs.

Willie Mullins will feel confident of further success with this horse, although Kitzbuhel was a recent victory at Punchestown. As a younger adversary, perhaps he's more progressive and the 8/15 favourite was solid enough in that Beginners Chase. That came after a third-placed finish in the bet365 Select Hurdle at Sandown Park.

Salver is another five-year-old with bags of ability, with Gary & Josh Moore training a horse who won at Sandown Park at the beginning of December. That twelve-length success was highly impressive for the 6/4 favourite who previously ran into third at Exeter in a Beginners Chase which featured Lulamba claiming the spoils as the short-priced market leader.

Wendigo was a smart performer at Newbury at the end of November, with the horse enjoying a two-length success over two miles and four furlongs. That was in the Grade Two John Francome Novices' Chase, with the runner staying on the best at the end. There was a decent fifth in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

2024 Ladbrokes Kauto Star Novices' Chase

The Jukebox Man has been a star performer during his career and it’s easy to see why this horse has been installed to win the Ladbrokes Kauto Star Novices' Chase. The six-year-old was successful when triumphing at Newbury at the end of November, claiming a two-length success over Masaccio and there could be more to come from the favourite.

As for Masaccio, it’s not out of the question that the horse could benefit from a longer trip considering that the previous meeting was over two miles and four furlongs. The horse did hit a fence when three out and jumped left, losing valuable distance and punters might prefer to go for this option at a bigger price.

Hyland has won on three of his previous four outings, with this win rate sure to attract punters and the seven-year-old was last seen beating three other contenders at Cheltenham in mid-November. That came after a success at the same track towards the end of October, with the horse bouncing back from a disappointing showing at Uttoxeter.

White Rhino has achieved back to back successes this term, with Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero training an eight-year-old who was able to score at Haydock Park in early December when achieving a sizeable victory on testing ground. This came after a victory at Ayr in early November and punters might go for a big each-way price.
