2024 BetVictor Stakes Tips
The BetVictor Stakes is registered as the Steventon Stakes and it will be interesting to see which horse lands a victory over a mile and two furlongs. Alyanaabi could be the one to beat according to the latest odds, with the three-year-old having run most recently at Ascot this season. The 10/1 shot achieved a midfield finish in the St James’s Palace Stakes.
Previously to this, there was a fifth place in the 2,000 Guineas where the horse finished less than five lengths off the pace. However, some might want to oppose the market leader and Al Aasy has the potential to land a victory. The seven-year-old was last seen finishing fifth out of eight runners at Ascot back in October.
In the preceding race, there was a second-placed finish in the Group 3 Paddy Power Stakes at Leopardstown, with the horse narrowly losing to Adelaide River over one mile and four furlongs. This came after a success at Haydock when the runner was able to score in the Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes.
Caviar Heights has a win under his belt this season and scored a success at Newmarket in early May, with the horse finishing ninth out of twelve runners in the Hampton Court Stakes. Macduff goes for Ralph Beckett and there was a sixth-placed finish in the King Edward VII Stakes at Ascot last time out.
2023 Steventon Stakes Tips
Al Aasy could be set to go well over one mile and two furlongs in this Steventon Stakes, although the six-year-old will have to bounce back after a disappointing performance at the beginning of July. The horse finished dead last in the Fred Archer Stakes at Newbury, with the horse over twenty lengths behind eventual winner Kemari.
However, there has been previous evidence that the horse could be a likely winner of this race. The runner was coming back from a long lay-off and much comes down to whether Al Aasy can get back to the same level that saw the charge claim a victory in the Buckhounds Stakes over one mile and four furlongs on 7 May 2022.
Highland Avenue looks like a capable performer and turned out at Royal Ascot earlier this summer, with the horse sent off at betting odds of 18/1 in the Wolferton Stakes on 20 June. Charlie Appleby’s charge was previously 2/1 favourite for the Betfred Diomed Stakes when losing out to Regal Reality at Epsom over one mile, half a furlong.
Cadillac was less impressive at Royal Ascot when finishing second last in the same race, with the Alice Haynes-trained runner having won the Betfred Handicap over one mile and two furlongs at Epsom Racecourse. Epic Poet has been running well in France and could be a good leftfield pick for Freddie & Martyn Meade.
