2024 Princess Of Wales Stakes Betting Odds at Newmarket racecourse

Thursday, 11 July 2024

There’s an exciting race in store when it comes to the Princess Of Wales’s Stakes, with Hamish having been impressive for William Haggas and the eight-year-old could be the one to beat. It might be hard to topple this runner, with Giavellotto having landed a victory last time out and this runner goes for Marco Botti.

Ryan Moore is on board Time Lock and the five-year-old has solid credentials, with Harry Charlton saddling a runner bidding for his first win of the season. Arrest has also failed to land a win this season, although the bookmakers are respecting the John & Thady Gosden-trained runner and there could be more to come from Aimeric and Outbox.

2024 Princess Of Wales’s Stakes Tips

There are nine runners set to go to post in the Princess Of Wales’s Stakes, with six of them trading at single figure betting odds. Hamish is the shortest-priced charge and there’s been lots to like about the William Haggas-trained runner who was second to Luxembourg in the Coronation Cup at Epsom last time out.

This came after a victory at Newbury where the horse was able to finish first in the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Stakes. This success came over one mile and four furlongs, with the horse edging out Al Qareem by a neck. Giavellotto is a younger contender and the five-year-old was triumphant last time out.

Marco Botti saddles a horse that was able to see off five other runners at York, obliging in the Yorkshire Cup Stakes at York in the middle of May. That success was by nearly five lengths, with previously smart performances coming at Meydan and Riyadh. Time Lock is another five-year-old who has solid credentials and could be a good each-way bet.

Harry Charlton trains a runner who finished dead last in the Coronation Cup although there had previously been a solid performance in the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket, with 50/1 outsider Outbox able to deliver the goods on that occasion. Arrest and Aimeric were both second in their previous race, with the former trading at a shorter price.

Adayar will have William Buick on board as the horse goes in search of a victory at Newmarket on Thursday, with the horse having finished third in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot. Sent off at odds of 100/30 for this Group 1 encounter, the runner found winner Mostahdaf and favourite Luxembourg too good, although perhaps has enough class here.

The horse was previously able to score as the odds-on favourite when winning at Newmarket and perhaps a repeat of that performance in the bet365 Gordon Richards Stakes will be enough to land the spoils. There was a win by two and a half lengths although some might prefer the chances of Israr who has secured runner-up spots this season.

The first of these came at Newbury in the Al Rayyan Stakes where the horse was beaten into second by Haskoy. However, it was just a short head between the two runners and the horse then narrowly missed out in the Race to the Ebor Stakes at York when losing to Quickthorn over one mile and six furlongs.

Rebel’s Romance also catches the eye considering that the horse was able to land five consecutive wins last season, with the Godolphin charge scoring at far-flung locations such as Keeneland, Cologne, Hoppegarten, Goodwood and Newmarket last term. However, the horse was slightly disappointing when finishing seventh in the Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan.
