Convergent was highly successful as a three-year-old when recording victories at Leopardstown and Longchamp in the autumn. There was then an ill-fated trip to Munich where the runner struggled to get to grips with the race as the odds-on favourite. The 4/1 chance was always travelling strongly in the Surprise Stakes and did well when having to switch on the track to land a victory. Tenability has bold claims for William Haggas, with the runner able to claim the spoils last time out. There was a victory for the four-year-old when running in the Tapster Stakes at Goodwood Racecourse, with that coming after chasing home Convergent at Newbury when finishing third at odds of 6/1.
