2024 Morgiana Hurdle Tips
State Man has been an outstanding performer in the past twelve months and it would be a big shock if the Irish horse was unable to land a victory in the Morgiana Hurdle. The seven-year-old returns to the racecourse bidding for a seventh consecutive win, with the latest success coming at the Punchestown Festival.
That victory followed up an English Champion Hurdle win, with the horse securing the honours as the 2/5 favourite at the Cheltenham Festival. This came after a success at Leopardstown in the Irish Champion Hurdle, with the horse winning the Matheson Hurdle during the festive period and more wins could be on the cards.
If State Man is to be beaten, then there are several other Mullins-trained runners with a chance of victory. Ballyburn is a six-year-old who is bidding for a fifth straight win of his own, with the latest success coming at Punchestown in early May. There was plenty to like about his success by thirteen lengths in the Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle.
Lossiemouth is the mare aiming to benefit from her weight allowance in this race, with the five-year-old having been a serial winner last term. There was a seven length success at Punchestown in early May, with the horse delivering in the Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and there was an odds-on success in the Unibet Hurdle.
2022 Morgiana Hurdle Tips
The best horse racing betting sites will be offering Morgiana Hurdle price boosts and that might prove helpful if you are looking to back Vauban for this Grade 1 encounter. It looks as though this horse will be a warm order for the race based on the four-year-old’s achievements to date and perhaps we will see this horse compete as a five-year-old in the 2023 Champion Hurdle.
Vauban was a smart performer during last season’s National Hunt campaign and he rose to the fore when obliging as the 6/4 favourite in the JCB Triumph Hurdle. It was a two-and-a-half length victory against Fil Dor and Pied Piper, with the former horse beaten by four lengths at Punchestown a month later in the Grade One four-year-old hurdle.
Perhaps the Morgiana Hurdle will be a good each-way betting race and it should be noted that a four-year-old hasn’t won since 1998. Sharjah could be an interesting contender and this reliable Willie Mullins-trained runner has obliged as both a five-year-old and eight-year-old.
Should you fancy Vauban to oblige with a win in the Morgiana Hurdle, then you could consider betting on the straight forecast market. As always when it comes to Grade One races in Ireland, it’s often worth trying to consider which horses are likely to line up for Willie Mullins and some of the entries will be entered in other races.
