2025 Two Year Old Trophy Betting Odds at Redcar racecourse

Saturday, 04 October 2025

Song Of The Clyde is the big favourite to win the William Hill Two Year Old Trophy, with Saturday’s race featuring a number of talented runners. Clive Cox trains a runner who has been hitting the frame all season, with Hollywood Treasure another smart performer who could be a sensible each-way betting race.

Argentine Tango has run plenty of times this term and Tim Easterby’s charge has a solid rating ahead of this Redcar encounter, with Isle Of Fernandez trained by Kevin Ryan and in with an outside chance. Isle Of Fernandez and Ardisia have also enjoyed wins this season and we’re intrigued to see how the race pans out.

The highlight race at Redcar on Saturday is the William Hill Two Year Old Trophy, with Song Of The Clyde likely to provide a tune at the Yorkshire track. Clive Cox saddles a horse who has been hitting the right notes this season, with the runner having finished second out of twenty-one horses at Doncaster. That came after an excellent victory at York.

Having been sent off at odds of 15/2, there was everything to like about this six furlong trip and that came after sealing a runner-up spot in a previous race at Newbury. There was also a triumph at Chester although others might go in search of a bigger-priced alternative. Hollywood Treasure has landed a couple of wins already this term.

The first of these came on the all-weather and the horse looks to be favourably weighted here. There was a success at Wolverhampton in early April before following this up with a mid-August success at Newbury when winning a listed race for fillies. In the more competitive Prix d’Arenberg the horse struggled with the very soft conditions.

Argentine Tango has run several times for Tim Easterby this term, although there hasn’t been a victory in the past five outings. Isle of Fernandez was more successful in a previous race when obliging at Carlisle in September. That came before finishing third in the Firth Of Clyde at monster odds of 25/1.

Billboard Star could be the one that they all have to beat when it comes to the Two Year Old Trophy, with the Eve Johnson Houghton-trained runner having the highest official rating in the field. The horse was last seen finishing third out of six runners in the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury and that showing in the Group 2 encounter certainly caught the eye.

However, the horse was previously disappointing at York when finishing dead last and there could be some better priced alternatives, with Uncle Don having landed a top-two spot in all three encounters to date. There was a solid showing at Ayr when losing out by a length and that came after a success at Beverley.

Francisco’s Piece has run plenty of times already and the two-year-old was second last time out, with this being in a five-runner race at Haydock, with the 15/8 favourite narrowly beaten on soft ground. The horse previously ran well at big odds in the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood and this race could be to his liking.

Invictus Gold has won each of his previous two outings, with the latest success coming at Newmarket towards the end of August, while the horse also triumphed on the all-weather at Southwell. Shameful is another one to watch, with Clive Cox having seen his runner land a victory on his debut.

2023 Two Year Old Trophy Tips

Dragon Leader is all the rage to land a victory in the William Hill Two Year Old Trophy over six furlongs and it’s easy to see why the runner has been installed as the odds-on favourite. However, the horse was beaten last time out when finishing second to Room Service in a big money two-year-old stakes and the charge was beaten by over two lengths.

Previously to this, there was a victory over six furlongs in a Yearling Stakes, with the horse running out an impressive winner by over four lengths. This came after a win at Salisbury and there will be lots of money coming for the odds-on favourite. Flaccianello could be the one to usurp the market leader and there has been two wins in the past three outings.

In the EBF Nursery Handicap, the Richard Fahey-trained runner was able to oblige as the 5/2 favourite, with the horse seeing off Two Tribes by a neck. Previously to this, there was a smart performance when finishing fifth at odds of 33/1 at Doncaster. There was only two and a half lengths separating this runner from Dragon Leader.

Kylian might be the class horse in the race, although a severe weight penalty hinders his chance of winning this encounter. In the Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster Racecourse, there was a fifth placed finish out of eight runners, with the runner having underwhelmed when finishing down the order in the Gimcrack Stakes over six furlongs.
