The Yasuda Kinen is one of the biggest races on the Japanese calendar, with this being a Grade One encounter over roughly a mile. However, there's no clear market leader for an encounter where twenty-four runners are currently priced up by the bookies. Gaia Force might attract some each-way money and the same applies to Trovatore. It will be interesting to see how the odds play out as we get closer to the start of the race on Sunday 7 June.

There are any number of horses that can win the Yasuda Kinen and that includes Gaia Force. Back in October, the Haruki Sugiyama-trained runner was successful at Tokyo Racecourse when obliging in the Grade Two Fuji Stakes. It was a victory by half a length over a mile, with the horse then running well at Kyoto in the next race.
That effort resulted in a runner-up spot in the Grade One Mile Championship where Jantar Mantar was able to reverse the order. There was then a late March outing at Meydan where a credible sixth-placed effort was enjoyed in the Dubai Turf over a mile and a furlong. This horse could well hit the frame and merit an each-way wager at the very least.
Otherwise, it might be Admire Zoom who is able to come up with the goods. Yasuo Tomomichi trains a horse who landed the spoils over a mile in Kyoto towards the end of April. The 31/10 favourite performed well in the Yomiuri Milers Cup, with that representing an improvement on a sixth-placed effort in the Sho Swan Stakes.
There's also the lesser-raced Ask Ikigomi who opened an account in early April with a success in the Grade 3 Churchill Downs Cup. That was a half a length success over a mile and came before finishing second at Tokyo fairly recently. Only a nose prevented the Hideaki Fujiwara-trained runner scoring in the NHK Mile Cup.
