2025 bet365 Mares Hurdle Betting Odds at Wetherby racecourse

Saturday, 01 November 2025

The bet365 Mares Hurdle at Wetherby Racecourse takes place over two miles on Saturday. The race is set to go off at 1.50pm and there are eight runners set to go to post. Golden Ace has been a strong performer during her career and the Jeremy Scott-trained charge could be the horse to beat.

Kateira could go well for Dan Skelton and could be more favourably weighted than the favourite, with the horse hoping to travel well over the two-mile trip. Dysart Enos is trained by Fergal O’Brien and could attract each-way money, with Take No Chances looking to improve on a recent sixth-placed finish and this is another Skelton charge.

Golden Ace has racked up some impressive wins during this calendar year. The filly was able to score in the Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton back in February. This performance was followed by a success at the Cheltenham Festival. In the Champion Hurdle, the 25/1 shot was able to surprise everyone to land the spoils.

That nine-length success in the Grade 1 encounter took everyone on the back foot, with the horse then running well in the Irish Champion Hurdle. There was plenty to like about her second-placed finish behind State Man, with the seven-year-old likely to be a warm order when it comes to this Wetherby encounter at the weekend.

Kateira might give the favourite the most to think about. Dan Skelton saddles a horse that was last seen running at Ascot back in January. On that occasion, it was a second placed finish in the Yorkshire Rose Mares’ Hurdle, coming after a midfield effort at Ascot in December. It was a reasonable outcome in a competitive field in the Long Walk Hurdle.

Dysart Enos and Take No Chances are next in the betting market. The former was third on the all-weather in a field of five at Kempton recently. More is needed from this Fergal O’Brien-trained charge here, with the latter running for Dan Skelton and there was an encouraging effort at Chepstow in October.

The horse racing betting sites are taking few chances with their odds about Luccia landing a victory at Wetherby this weekend. The six-year-old is a short price to secure a victory in this race, having put in some solid performances last time out. She ran well to finish fourth in the Aintree Hurdle, with that coming after a fine effort at the Cheltenham Festival.

Sent off at odds of 33/1, few expected Luccia to finish in the frame although she was able to run a blinder over two miles, half a furlong. It was very impressive to finish so close to eventual winner State Man, with the horse previously winning the Exchange Trophy at Ascot and this mare is certainly the one to beat.

Kateira has a decent chance of recording a win, with the horse claiming a victory in a big field at Aintree back in April. The 5/1 co-favourite was able to secure the spoils in the William Hill Handicap Hurdle over two miles and four furlongs, with the same horse previously running well over two miles and five furlongs at Kempton.

Brighterdaysahead is a canny performer who has been clocking up the wins so far in her career, registering a victory at Aintree back in April. In the Mersey Novices’ Hurdle, she was able to land the spoils as the 6/5 favourite when securing a victory by seven and a half furlongs. This came after finishing second in the Mares’ Novices Hurdle.

There’s going to be plenty of bets when it comes to this Mares’ Hurdle race and there’s no obvious favourite for an encounter which takes place over two miles. You Wear It Well could go well for trainer Jamie Snowden, with the six-year-old having finished fifth in a Novices’ Hurdle race at Aintree although there were previously victories that were achieved.

That includes a Mares Novice Hurdle success at the Cheltenham Festival, with the 16/1 shot being able to edge out her competitors including Luccia who was sent off as warm favourite. Perhaps the five-year-old will be able to triumph on this occasion, with the mare having performed well at Aintree last spring when finishing third in the Top Novices’ Hurdle.

Kateira had enjoyed three successive wins before finishing second to Irish Point in the Mersey Novices’ Hurdle and there were twelve lengths between this mare and You Wear It Well. The Dan Skelton-trained runner was previously able to score at Uttoxeter, Huntingdon and Market Rasen, with more improvement potentially on the cards.

Salsada runs for Brian Ellison and will need to improve on the fifth-placed finish in the Coral Scottish Champion Hurdle where the horse was unable to make an impression on the leading contenders. Stainsby Girl enjoyed successive wins on the all-weather at Newcastle last season and she deserves the chance to step up in class.
