Saber Strike is trading as the favourite to win the Jersey Stakes and the horse has passed both assignments with flying colours. In a six-furlong novice stakes at Redcar last autumn, the horse was a comfortable three-length winner at odds of 9/4. Better was to come when the charge ran at Newmarket at the beginning of May to oblige in a more competitive race.
In the seven-furlong King Charles II Stakes, the horse was able to get over the line by nearly two lengths. William Haggas will have high hopes of a Royal Ascot success considering the horse has demonstrated an ability to travel well on good to firm ground. The latest win saw the runner start sluggishly before finishing ahead of some quality operators.
Into The Sky is trained by Jim Boyle and was a fourth-placed finisher on a seasonal debut, with that being a valiant effort at 18/1 at Newmarket. In a field of twelve horses, he certainly ran his race in the 2,000 Guineas despite finishing twelve lengths off the pace. That came after a second-placed effort in the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury over six furlongs.
The Prettiest Star has claims for Ed Walker, with the horse running well at Newmarket last time out. Sent off at odds of 16/1 in the 1,000 Guineas, the filly was able to perform above her odds to hit the frame. That came after a September runner-up effort where the mare was only half a length behind winner Zanthos and there could be more to come.
