2024 Princess Margaret Stakes Betting Odds at Ascot racecourse

Saturday, 27 July 2024

We’re all set for a quality Ascot racecard on Saturday, with Soprano being installed as the short-priced favourite for this two-year-old encounter. The George Boughey-trained charge has looked impressive and looks set to go off at a short price, although each-way backers might be more taken by the prospect of backing Pretty Crystal.

Kairyu has landed back to back wins and there could be more to come from a horse trading among the favourites for this six furlong encounter, with Needlepoint running for Amy Murphy and this is another runner who comes into the race off the back of a victory. The same applies to Symbology and the Clive Cox-trained runner should go well.

2023 Princess Margaret Stakes Tips

Soprano finished third last time out, although this was in the competitive Albany Stakes at the 2023 Royal Ascot meeting, with the George Boughey-trained runner finding two horses too strong for him and there’s still a question mark over the distance. Previously to this, Soprano was able to land a victory in a Maiden Fillies’ Stakes over five furlongs.

Pretty Crystal was fifth in the Albany Stakes and that was more of a surprise considering that the horse was sent off at odds of 33/1. Richard Fahey’s two-year-old could therefore be competitive and the runner is trading at a more attractive each-way price than the favourite, with Kairyu also operating at a short price.

It’s been successive wins for the Irish raider, with the horse claiming a victory in the Anglesey Stakes on 22 July at the Curragh, with the horse able to overcoming odds-on favourite Pearls And Rubies. There was previously a win in a Fillies Maiden at Naas and the runner will therefore be bidding for a hat-trick in his first run in England.

Needlepoint has only had one outing and that was an 11/1 success in the Prix de la Reine Blanche Longines Soutenu par les Echos Weekend, with this win coming at Chantilly. Amy Murphy trains a runner who could also have Komat for company, with the latter finishing sixth in the Albany Stakes and capable of a big run.
