2024 Valiant Stakes Betting Odds at Ascot racecourse

Saturday, 27 July 2024

There is a big field set to line up in the Valiant Stakes at Ascot Racecourse, with nineteen horses currently entered and it’s Grande Dame who could go off as favourite. The four-year-old will have Ryan Moore on board, with the runner joined by Prosperous Voyage at the head of the market and the Ralph Beckett-trained charge has solid credentials.

Random Harvest hasn’t been in the winners’ enclosure this season but there have been two runner-up positions and perhaps this is the race where Ed Walker saddles him to victory, with Villanova Queen also looking like an exciting each-way prospect and there have been two successes for trainer Jessica Harrington this season.

2023 Valiant Stakes Tips

Grande Dame was out of luck when running at Royal Ascot, although the horse was involved in a fiercely competitive race, so it was no disgrace to see the runner finish eighth out of ten. In the Duke of Cambridge Stakes, the horse weakened towards the end of the race, although the runner had experienced a long lay-off and could improve here.

Prosperous Voyage runs for trainer Ralph Beckett, with the four-year-old also somewhat disappointing on a previous outing, although that was in a competitive Falmouth Stakes. The horse was able to finish well ahead of Grande Dame at Royal Ascot when finishing third in the same race although Random Harvest could be an even better prospect.

The latter finished second in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes which appears to be a barometer for this upcoming race, with the horse then finishing sixth in the Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes, with the runner really breaking on to the scene when finishing second in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at betting odds of 22/1.

Villanova Queen has secured two wins this season and the latest of these victories came in the Kensington Palace Fillies’ Handicap. This was definitely a surprise win considering that the runner was priced at 25/1, with the horse claiming a victory by half a length. Much depends on whether this was a one-off and it will be interesting to see whether there can be a repeat performance.
