Belmont Derby 2026 Betting Odds

Saturday 4 July 2026 · Belmont Park · By Matthew Glazier · Last updated

Horse racing fans are in for a treat when it comes to the Belmont Derby on Saturday 4 July. We're quite sweet on the chances of Title Role considering that the horse has run consistently well over the past few races. However, there are lots of leading contenders to consider and that includes Pacific Avenue who runs for Charlie Appleby.

The biggest concern is that the latter has failed to win any of his past four efforts, with Remember Mamba looking like an interesting challenger for Cherie DeVaux. There have been wins at Keeneland and Fair Grounds, with West End Kid having shone on the one and only outing to date when scoring at Saratoga.

2026 Belmont Derby Betting Tips

Title Role was on target at Meydan Racecourse at the end of January, with the 5/4 favourite able to score in the Jumeirah Guineas Trial. A month later, the horse then landed a victory at the same track over a mile, with a success coming in the Jumeirah 2000 Guineas. Then the horse went to Newbury in the Greenham Stakes and finished in fifth place.

There was a return to the winners' enclosure at Cologne at the end of May, with a German 2000 Guineas success being landed. The Simon & Ed Crisford-trained runner has solid credentials and we're happy to take an each-way punt. However, there are a clutch of other horses trading at a similar price including Pacific Avenue.

The Charlie Appleby-trained runner was last seen turning out at the Curragh, with a third-placed effort coming in the Irish 2,000 Guineas. Sent off at 40/1, the horse outran his odds and that came after a runner-up spot at Goodwood. At Meydan, just a length separated the horse from Title Role and this is definitely one for the shortlist.

Remember Mamba and West End Kid are other prime contenders. The former scored at Fair Grounds towards the end of January, with that coming before a solid success at Keeneland in early April. West End Kid was the big favourite at Saratoga when running in the Pennine Ridge Stakes. The 21/20 market leader secured a victory by over a length.
