2023 Camden Hells Handicap Tips
On first glance, the form of Masekela might not have a lot to recommend the horse when it comes to the Camden Hells Handicap, although the four-year-old has been running in some competitive races. The Sky Bet Finale Handicap at York saw the charge run pretty well at odds of 40/1 and that came after a wind surgery operation.
However, some might instead prefer the chances of Sweet Reward instead. The six-year-old has secured victories in two of the past three outings, with the latest win seeing the horse oblige at odds of 16/1. This was a five-length win at Goodwood Racecourse at the back end of August, with the horse having also won a handicap race at Epsom.
First Impression will look to build on a victory last time out and John Quinn trains a runner who will be carrying three pounds less than the front two in the betting. We saw the horse win a Ladies Day Handicap at Chester over a month ago, with the runner able to win by over two lengths on that occasion and there could be more to come.
Great Max has struggled on the past two performances although perhaps a run into seventh in the Virgin Bet Handicap at Sandown wasn’t too shabby considering the horse was a 40/1 shot and beat seven other runners. In the Buckingham Palace Stakes, there was a midfield finish and perhaps there could be some merit in an each-way wager.
