2025 Chester Vase Betting Odds at Chester racecourse

Aidan O’Brien is in the box seat to win the Chester Vase and has a couple of lively contenders heading the market for an encounter over one mile, four and a half furlongs. Stay True looked the part when landing a victory last time out, while Lambourn is another talented three-year-old with very solid claims.

Convergent could also run well in this Wednesday encounter, with Karl Burke saddling the runner to a double success. Opportunity also has the potential to star and was bright in the previous outing when scoring for William Haggas. There are also a couple of Ralph Beckett-trained runners who can star in the form of Pinhole and Square D’Alboni.

Stay True has only run once so far in his career although that performance was enough to be installed as the favourite to win the Chester Vase. Aidan O’Brien saddles a horse who claimed a victory at Leopardstown a few weeks ago. The runner was able to score by over two lengths and there could be more to come from the three-year-old.

Lambourn was second in his last showing and this is another O’Brien contender with solid claims. The horse was second out of seven runners at Leopardstown and that saw the horse bouncing back after finishing dead last at The Curragh back in September. A couple of earlier victories in Ireland means that this horse is an experienced sort.

Convergent could be a potential winner and the Karl Burke-trained runner has landed consecutive successes in his career so far. Both of these successes came at Redcar, with the first of these wins coming in October against fourteen other horses. That came before an April success at the same track when sent off as very heavy favourite.

Opportunity and Pinhole come next in the betting. The former is trained by William Haggas and there was a bright performance at Haydock when scoring by a neck last time out. This came after finishing fourth at Nottingham. The latter was able to win on the all-weather at Southwell in December and that was a two length success.

2024 Boodles Chester Vase Stakes Tips

Grosvenor Square has claimed two wins from his three appearances to date, with the horse claiming the spoils at Galway back in September. Sent off as the 6/4 favourite, the runner won on his debut before performing at the Curragh where the horse was able to finish third out of a field of six.

Better was to come at Leopardstown in October when the horse was able to to secure a victory against five other runners. There was a success by four and a half lengths in the Eyrefield Stakes which was a Group 3 encounter on heavy ground. The fact that the 10/11 favourite was able to make all suggests that there’s more to come here.

Hidden Law also has a decent chance of landing a success and the Charlie Appleby-trained runner has the potential to deliver the goods for Godolphin. With William Buick on board the runner, there could be more to come from a horse who claimed a victory at Newbury in April when winning by five and a half lengths.

Agenda has the potential to also run a big race and the three-year-old was last seen performing well at Dundalk in the all-weather encounter over one mile, two and a half furlongs. The horse was able to achieve a victory by nearly five lengths after finishing in the places at the Curragh in a field of seventeen runners.

2023 Chester Vase Tips

John & Thady Gosden will be confident of a big run from Arrest when it comes to the 2023 Boodles Chester Vase Stakes, with the Juddmonte horse last seen running in France. There was a solid performance at Saint-Cloud when achieving a runner-up spot behind Dubai Mile in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud, with this being over one mile and two furlongs on heavy ground.

Running to that sort of mark again at the Roodee might be enough to see Arrest land a victory and Frankie Dettori will be on board a runner who was able to win comfortably at Ffos Las last September over one mile before running really strongly in France to indicate his Grade One credentials although there could be a couple of flies in the ointment.

Adelaide River is trained by Aidan O’Brien and we could see a big run from the three-year-old who looks set to go off as second favourite. The runner was third in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud and has about six lengths to find on the favourite based on that performance, with this coming after a second-placed finish in the Beresford Stakes at The Curragh.

Hadrianus was seen more recently in action when the Charlie Johnston-trained runner was able to achieve a second-placed finish at Epsom Racecourse. There was no disgrace in finishing second to Epictetus in the Weatherbys Digital Solutions Blue Riband Trial over one mile and two furlongs on soft ground and this has a lively outside chance.
