2025 Dee Stakes Betting Odds at Chester racecourse

Thursday, 08 May 2025

The Dee Stakes will be run at Chester Racecourse and it always takes a bit of winning to come out on top over one mile, two and a half furlongs. Acapulco Bay was second last time out and could go well for Aidan O’Brien although the betting market is wide open. Much depends on getting a fast start and Convergent boasts some strong form.

Mount Kilimanjaro was third on the all-weather last time out, with this O’Brien-trained runner looking a backable each-way price. High Stock was a first-time winner for Andrew Balding, with Push The Limit capable of delivering the spoils for Ralph Beckett. The same trainer has Calla Lagoon who makes a seasonal bow.

2025 Dee Stakes Betting Tips

Aidan O’Brien is likely to rack up a number of winners at Chester this week and a victory might come in the Dee Stakes. The Irish handler has a couple of lively contenders in a race over one mile, two and a half furlongs. Acapulco Bay looks a fine contender and he was second last time out, with this horse running well at Naas this season.

The horse was two lengths off the pace over one mile, with that coming after a victory at the Curragh last August. However, Mount Kilimanjaro is a stablemate who is also trading at a similar price despite underwhelming last time out. Sent off as the 1/4 favourite, the runner could only manage third out of five places.

Previously to this, there was a smart performance at Saint-Cloud back in October. The horse performed well over a mile and this came after a victory at Longchamp in the beginning of the same month. A repeat of that performance in the Arqana Series - Haras de Bouquetot Criterium d'Automne could see the horse prosper here.

If Convergent lines up here, then it’s a horse we have to take seriously. Karl Burke saddles a three-year-old who is ridden by Sam James. There was a double success at Redcar, with these victories coming in October and then more recently in April. High Stock was impressive at Newmarket when fending off fourteen other runners.

The going is set to be good at Chester Racecourse for the Boodles Raindance Dee Stakes, with this listed race set to take place over one mile, two and a half furlongs. God’s Window runs for John & Thady Gosden and the three-year-old was last seen beating two other contenders at Nottingham Racecourse when triumphing by eight lengths.

Previously to this, the horse finished third out of seven runners at Doncaster Racecourse and this came after a triumph at the same track, with the next best contender potentially being Jayarebe who was also successful last time out. The three-year-old runs for Brian Meehan and came good at Newmarket back in April.

Sent off as an 11/1 chance in the bet365 Feilden Stakes, the horse was able to secure a win by over three lengths in a one mile, one furlong encounter. This came after a solid enough outing in the Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere over seven furlongs, with Sean Levey now on board a runner who is priced similarly to Bracken’s Laugh.

Richard Hughes trains a runner who was victorious last time out, with Finley Marsh on board a horse who was successful on the all-weather at Chelmsford in early April. The three-year-old started his career when landing a Newbury success before running in a more competitive heat at Saint-Cloud.
