2025 Pretty Polly Stakes Betting Tips
Whirl and Kalpana are among the favourites to win the 2025 Pretty Polly Stakes. The former was a solid performer at Epsom in May, with the filly finishing runner-up in the Oaks. There was just a neck separating her from eventual winner Minnie Hauk, with that being an excellent performance over one mile and four furlongs.
Whirl was previously successful at York when obliging in the Musidora Stakes, with the horse landing a victory by five and a half lengths. However, Kalpana isn’t a much bigger price and she also has excellent credentials. The latest effort was at the Curragh when finishing a respectable third in the Tattersalls Gold Cup over one mile, two and a half furlongs.
That came after wins at Ascot and Kempton last autumn. There was an even money success in the September Stakes before following this up in the Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes. However, Estrange is also a potential winner of the race and David O’Meara will have high hopes for his charge. There was a success on her seasonal debut this term.
Bedtime Story could represent each-way value. Aidan O’Brien’s charge could be favourably weighted and there was an excellent display at Chantilly a few weeks ago. The horse missed out by just a length in the Prix de Diane Longines. That was over one mile, two and a half furlongs on good to soft ground, with that coming after a May display at Longchamp.

The William Hill Pretty Polly Stakes takes place over one mile and two furlongs, with the racing betting market suggesting that there are lots of horses with lively claims to win. Kalpana could be the pick of the three-year-olds, with the runner having begun with a triumph at Wolverhampton in January, with this being followed by a runner-up spot at Newcastle.
Then came a smart performance at Newmarket in April where the horse was able to fend off eight rivals and triumph by a distance of ten lengths. There was everything to like about this display over one mile and two furlongs, with Winter Snowfall potentially the one who could topple the favourite and there was a win last time out.
The Charlie Appleby-trained runner was able to oblige with a victory at Chelmsford last time out when beating five other horses in the field, with this coming after finishing second on the all-weather at Kempton. Charlie Appleby trains a horse who looks a backable each-way price and the same applies to Friendly Soul who won last time out.
The horse was able to beat a dozen rivals on the all-weather at Kempton Racecourse, with the runner landing the spoils in a Maiden Fillies’ Stakes when achieving a half length victory. Lunar Eclipse was also victorious in her only outing to date, landing a win at Newmarket for trainer David Simcock.
