Scurry Handicap 2025 Result
There’s a wide open field for Saturday’s Scurry Handicap and we are likely to see the bookmakers offering plenty of places for this encounter. The going is set to be soft at the Curragh, with the rain coming in Ireland and that means we need to find runners who are able to cope with this sort of going.

There are sure to be price movements nearer to the off, with Fresh, Coachello and Aussie Girl among the favourites to land a victory. The latter has a number of victories this season and we might also see Gypsy Woman put in a strong performance. Punters are recommended to compare the latest odds before placing their bets.

Aussie Girl looks to be the sort of mare that can land a victory in the 2023 Scurry Handicap. The JA Stack-trained runner was recently successful at the Curragh, so we know that she can act well at this course. Sent off as the 5/2 favourite to win the Dubai Duty Free Summer Fillies Handicap, she was able to win over seven furlongs on good ground.
That will be a pointer for this upcoming race, although it’s against tougher opposition. Fresh might have only finished fifth last time out, although that was in the competitive Wokingham Stakes Handicap at Royal Ascot, with this placing out of twenty-seven runners having been impressive. The horse was only two lengths off the pace here.
Coachello is also among the favourites, with the horse most recently finishing fourth out of eight runners in a Festival Handicap race at Newcastle on the all-weather. Gordon Elliott will need more from a runner who finished dead last in an eight-runner encounter at the Curragh at the end of May, although the five-year-old is respected in the market.
Albasheer and Gypsy Woman are next in the market and the latter is a three-year-old who could build on a victory last time out. That came in an Irish maiden race at Roscommon, with the G M Lyons-trained runner able to oblige as the 4/5 favourite. That was over seven and a half furlongs with the horse able to make the going all the way around.
