2024 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf Betting Odds at Del Mar racecourse

Friday, 01 November 2024

We’re looking forward to the 2023 Juvenile Fillies Turf Race, with Opera Singer having won three of her five encounters so far this season. The two-year-old is virtually certain to go off as favourite when she lines up against Carla’s Way and Fallen Angel, with a decent-sized field expected to battle it out over the distance of one mile.

Meditate, Pizza Bianca and Aunt Pearl among the most recent winners of the Juvenile Fillies Turf, with Aidan O’Brien training the former twelve months ago and he will return to Santa Anita Park with a lively contender in the form of Opera Singer. However, the betting market suggests that any number of runners could end up securing victory.

2023 Juvenile Fillies Turf Tips

We’re counting down to the 2023 Juvenile Fillies Turf where the runners and riders will grace the left-handed track at Santa Anita Park in search of a big money victory. Some of the most talented two-year-old fillies will battle it out and there’s a purse of $1 million available, with the horse last seen running at Longchamp where a five length victory was achieved.

In the Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac - Criterium des Pouliches, the filly was able to score by five lengths in this Group 1 encounter. The encouraging sign for backers is that the horse made all on that occasion and perhaps the same tactics will be deployed here, with the runner scoring an even money triumph previously at the Curragh.

Carla’s Way will run for Simon & Ed Crisford, with the horse having obliged in the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Rockfel Stakes. That was a win by over two lengths, with David Probert previously riding the mare to second place in the William Hill Prestige Fillies’ Stakes. There was only two lengths between her and winner Darnation.

Fallen Angel comes into the race off the back of successive wins at Newmarket and Curragh, with the first of these victories coming over seven furlongs on the July course. It was a three-length win for the 9/4 favourite in the Sweet Solera Stakes, with this being followed up by a success in the Moyglare Stud Stakes by just over a length.

2022 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf Tips

Blue Rose Cen has been impressing at Longchamp recently and it will be interesting to see how her French racing form stacks up when she heads to the Breeders Cup. In early September, there was an impressive performance to win the Prix d'Aumale over one mile on soft ground and the horse looked to show a good turn of speed on that occasion.

Blue Rose Cen was sent off at a similar price in the Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac - Criterium des Pouliches before landing a hefty sum of prize money, with the filly able to travel well despite the very soft ground although she might expect conditions to be entirely different at Keeneland on a firmer surface.

Perhaps we’ll see a Godolphin winner this time around and there is plenty to recommend Fairy Cross. The two-year-old was last seen at Goodwood Racecourse in England where she obliged in the William Hill Prestige Fillies’ Stakes, obliging as the 2/1 favourite when winning by a single length and there could be more to come.

Don’t rule out Meditate from challenging hard in this race. The two-year-old wasn’t able to oblige with a victory last time out although there was plenty to like about her win in the Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes when losing by under a length. Aidan O’Brien has reported that she’s in good order and there was also a second place in the Moyglare Stud Stakes.
