2024 Great Yorkshire Handicap Chase Betting Odds at Doncaster racecourse

Saturday, 27 January 2024

Victtorino and Yeah Man head the betting market for the 2024 Great Yorkshire Handicap Chase, with the former bidding for a third consecutive victory this season. The six-year-old could be a backable each-way price and should be suited to the course and distance when lining up against other staying chasers.

However, Yeah Man has posted two second-placed finishes this season and the seven-year-old could well be popular in the market. Ga Law will be looking to step things up after finishing lower down the order in the past two encounters, while Famous Bridge and Forward Plan are also capable of running into a place.

Victtorino has enjoyed the winning habit this season and will be bidding for a third consecutive victory at Doncaster Racecourse at the end of January. Venetia Williams trains a runner who has definite signs of progression at the age of six, with the horse landing back-to-back wins this season and we can see how this will be a popular each-way betting selection.

There was a December win at Ascot where the horse was able to land a victory in the Howden Silver Cup Handicap Chase, while that came after a more surprise win in the Gold Cup Handicap Chase at the same track at the beginning of November. However, trainer Gavin Cromwell could have a viable opponent in the form of Yeah Man.

The seven-year-old is yet to win this season although there have been two runner-up performances either side of the horse falling, with the horse having less than a length to find on Victtorino after previously falling at Ascot. There was also a second-placed finish in a Handicap Chase at Down Royal in a field of twelve runners.

Famous Bridge was able to score successive wins for trainer Nicky Richards earlier this season and both of these victories came at Haydock Park. The horse should be suited to the trip over three miles at Doncaster, with the runner landing wins at Wetherby earlier this year when racking up a couple of wins at the Yorkshire course.
