2025 Wentworth Stakes Betting Odds at Doncaster racecourse

Saturday, 08 November 2025

There could be as many as eighteen horses lining up in the Wentworth Stakes. All eyes are on favourite Montassib and the seven-year-old has produced some bright moments for trainer William Haggas. However, Spycatcher is a viable each-way alternative and the horse was able to win on his seasonal debut.

Art Power has run a number of times already this term and the Tim Easterby-trained charge should be able to perform well over six furlongs. Apollo One has enjoyed consecutive runner-up appearances and has the ability to go one better. At a similar price, Zoum Zoum is a four-year-old with a bright future and trained by Ralph Beckett.

Let’s start with Montassib. William Haggas trains a horse who was last seen running in a high-profile race at Ascot. The seven-year-old performed well in the Champions Sprint Stakes when finishing seventh in a Group One encounter that featured a big field. Previously to this, the horse produced another honest performance when finishing third out of eleven.

That effort came at Newbury in the World Trophy Stakes, with the horse’s calibre seeing the runner installed as favourite to win. Spycatcher is available at a bigger price, with the horse last seen obliging at Chantilly. This was a four-length success in France, with that coming on very soft ground over six furlongs. Therefore, the rainfall will come to his benefit.

Art Power has enjoyed several outings this term. Tim Easterby’s horse was last seen running in the Champions Sprint Stakes and finishing thirteenth at Ascot. It was a solid effort at massive odds of 40/1, with this coming after a September success at the Curragh. That was a narrow victory in the Group 3 Renaissance Stakes.

Apollo One has enjoyed successive runner-up appearances, with the seven-year-old last seen finishing second to Annaf in the Group 3 Bengough Stakes. That was after performing really well at Doncaster Racecourse when narrowly missing out in the Betfred Portland. From an each-way point-of-view, this could be the way forward.

Room Service could be well backed for the Wentworth Stakes, with the three-year-old having produced some bright performances last term. Kevin Ryan will hope that his horse can continue to improve, with a second placed finish occurring at York last month and that came in a field of twenty-four runners.

Previously to this, there was a midfield finish in a competitive field at Ayr, with a July success at Pontefract coming before wind surgery. Zoum Zoum could be the one to capitalise if the favourite doesn’t perform, with Ralph Beckett training a runner who was able to recently succeed at Doncaster after a third-placed finish at Saint-Cloud.

Russet Gold has been able to feature regularly in the places over the past year, with Roger Varian training a four-year-old who finished third out of nine runners at Ascot. This came after a fourth-placed finish out of eight at Newbury in September. Second place occurred out of seven horses at Newmarket Racecourse.

Then we have Korker who was fifth out of nine runners and that came after a promising performance when the same horse was able to land third place out of twenty-five runners. There were also three solid performances at York, with Sophia’s Starlight having notched back to back successes in her previous outings.

Sense Of Duty has been installed at the head of the betting market for the Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Wentworth Stakes on Saturday 11 November and that’s despite an underwhelming performance last time out. Running in the British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot, the horse was only able to finish tenth although this was admittedly a high grade affair and perhaps he’ll have more joy this weekend.

Earlier in the year, there were consecutive wins for the same horse at Redcar, Haydock and Newcastle Racecourse, with the horse then finishing third out of five runners in a five-furlong Group 3 encounter at Newbury Racecourse. Perhaps he will find Kinta as the most stubborn rival and there’s plenty to recommend a horse who was able to land a victory last time out.

The three-year-old claimed a victory out of ten runners at Newmarket in a Fillies’ Handicap and the George Boughey-trained horse might well benefit from recent wind surgery. Significantly is an older challenger who was able to win a competitive race at Ayr back in September. The Gold Cup victory was achieved by a neck and there could be more to come.

The Julie Camacho-trained runner nearly followed up this win with another notable victory when finishing second in the Coral Sprint Trophy Handicap, with the horse demonstrating credentials over six furlongs on soft ground, with Brad The Brief bidding for a first win of the campaign and there was a smart performance at Chantilly last time out.
