Skellet was successful at the end of last season and this horse could go off as favourite for the Princess Elizabeth Stakes. Ralph Beckett saddles a charge that might be a popular each-way pick for the encounter, although Bermuda Longtail has been able to land consecutive runner-up spots and the three-year-old could be well weighted.

Royal Dress was able to finish third on a seasonal debut, with James Tate looking for the five-year-old to make a bigger impression on Derby Day. Sirona was fourth last time out and David Menuisier can expect a solid outing from his charge here. Spiritual and Bright Thunder come next in the market and there’s lots of lively chances.

Derby Day at Epsom begins with the Princess Elizabeth Stakes and there’s a wide open look about this encounter over one mile, half a furlong. Skellet can’t be easily ignored after a success last time out. Ralph Beckett saddles a horse who scored at Sandown Park in September, with the horse performing well when runner-up at Chantilly before that.

Bermuda Longtail has racked up a couple of runner-up spots this season. The last of these came at York Racecourse in the middle of May. The 16/1 shot performed really well in the Sky Bet Fillies’ Stakes, with the horse having previously finished second on the all-weather at Kempton Park when being sent off as the short priced favourite.

Royal Dress was third on a seasonal debut and James Tate saddles a five-year-old which did well to run into a place at York Racecourse. In the Middleton Fillies’ Stakes, the 14/1 shot performed well over one mile, two and a half furlongs. There was a success at the Curragh back in July when the horse obliged at odds of 16/1.

Sirona was fourth last time out, with the five-year-old running for David Menuisier. At Goodwood in the beginning of May, the horse came close to winning despite finishing fourth out of nine runners. There was also plenty to like about a runner-up finish in the Prix Perth and that was a Group 3 encounter.

There’s a clear favourite when it comes to the Princess Elizabeth Stakes, with Running Lion the joint-highest rated runner in the field and her first outing of the season was an impressive one. At the beginning of May, there was a second placed finish out of six horses, with the 6/4 favourite beaten by Stay Alert in the William Hill .Dahlia Stakes..

Last season, there was an eighth-placed finish in the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes when being sent off at odds of 16/1. This came after finishing third in the Princess Royal Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Stakes although Breege could be a better priced alternative and the John & Sean Quinn-trained charge was third last time out.

That performance came at Goodwood in early May after a solid performance at Ascot in October when losing out by a head over seven furlongs. Sparks Fly is trading at a similar price and the four-year-old was fifth in a first outing of the campaign. This came at Haydock towards the end of April and there were two victories posted last season.

Sea Of Thieves has the potential to go well for Mario Barrati, with a success being scored at Longchamp last time out. The victory came in the Prix Maurice Zilber over seven furlongs on very soft ground, so some rain would be appreciated by a horse that ran twice at Ascot last year, with Newbury and Haydock performances also catching the eye.

Prosperous Voyage finished midfield in a recent encounter although this was a competitive encounter. In the Howden Dahlia Stakes, she was able to secure fifth place out of nine runners although this was a Group 2 race and there was also a credible fourth in the Sun Chariot Stakes which was a Group 1 encounter.

Indeed, the horse has been lining up in esteemed company for most of her career, with Rob Hornby riding the charge to an impressive 16/1 victory in the Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket on the July course back in early July. The horse was also sent off at enormous odds of 33/1 in last year’s 1000 Guineas before finishing second.

Potapova was pulled up in her previous encounter and was later found to have had an irregular heartbeat, although the horse was previously competitive in the Dubai Joel Stakes over one mile and there was also a win in the Atalanta Stakes over one mile. This was a Group 3 encounter at Sandown Park.

Roman Mist was a winner last time out, with the five-year-old landing the William Hill Conqueror Fillies’ Stakes on 6 May at Goodwood. This was over one mile on heavy ground and perhaps the horse will come on for this performance, with this runner looking like the each-way value and Astral Beau can also not be disregarded easily.
