2025 Dahlia Stakes Betting Tips
The Betfred Dahlia Stakes is a Group 2 encounter at Newmarket Racecourse which is run over one mile and one furlong. Elmalka is among the market leaders, with the horse finishing fourth out of six runners at the beginning of October. The runner was only three lengths off the pace and this came after finishing fourth out of nine in the Nassau Stakes.
Running Lion was second out of eleven runners and it was a fine performance at Longchamp back in October. The horse was less than a length from sealing a victory in the Prix de l'Opera Longines. This was over one mile and two furlongs on very soft ground, with the horse having to adapt to much faster conditions when it comes to this race.
Cinderella’s Dream was the runner-up last time out when running at Meydan at the end of February and will now be over in England to continue her strong form. However, the horse was the odds-on favourite on that occasion, with this coming after a bright performance at Del Mar where the horse was second in the Filly & Mare Turf race.
Secret Satire returns to the track after nearly a year and might be capable of springing a surprise, with Andrew Balding saddling a runner who was fifth at Belmont last July. In the Belmont Oaks, the horse was less than four lengths behind Cinderella’s Dream and she also ran in esteemed company when finishing towards the back of the order in the Epsom Oaks.

The William Hill Dahlia Stakes is a Group 2 encounter where Running Lion has been installed as the favourite to win, with the four-year-old having last run at Ascot back in October. Sent off at 16/1 in the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes, the horse managed to claim a credible eighth position at odds of 16/1.
Previously to this was a third-placed finish out of eleven runners at Newmarket in the Princess Royal Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Stakes, with Time Lock and Sweet Memories proving too strong on that occasion. However, there are plenty of viable contenders and Silver Lady was successful on her previous outing.
The horse was triumphant at Meydan back in January when beating seven other rivals including English Rose in the Cape Verdi race over one mile, with the runner able to beat the favourite although that came after a disappointing showing in the Pride Stakes at Newmarket, with Caernarfon possibly a better each-way shout.
The four-year-old runs for trainer Jack Channon and the horse is bidding for the first win in six attempts. There was a sixth placed finish at Salisbury which came after an underwhelming run at Goodwood. The horse performed admirably to register sixth place in the Hampton Court Stakes over one mile and two furlongs.
