Anno Domini finished second on his seasonal debut and he’s got a tremendous chance in the Surrey Stakes. The three-year-old landed a couple of victories last term, with Diego Ventura able to land a success last time out. There could be more to come from a horse who looks to be a reasonable each-way gamble.

Saqqara Sands impressed last season and the Ralph Beckett-trained charge could make an impact on his seasonal debut. Rebel’s Gamble has produced some flashy performances on the all-weather, with Hallasan having racked up a number of displays. Formal was eighth on his seasonal debut and Andrew Balding’s horse is available at 10/1.

2025 Surrey Stakes Betting Tips

Anno Domini is one of two Charlie Appleby-trained charges lining up in the Surrey Stakes, with the horse last seen finishing second out of six horses at Newmarket. The 6/5 favourite was narrowly edged out in a Conditions Stakes encounter over seven furlongs. Last year, there were victories at Newbury and Sandown Park.

Diego Ventura is trained by Hamad Al Jehani and the three-year-old was able to score at Longchamp last time out. The odds-on favourite triumphed in the Prix de Pontarme on good to soft ground. That came after finishing third out of ten runners in the King Charles II Stakes in early May when performing well on good ground.

Saqqara Sands returns to make a seasonal debut and certainly looks a promising each-way prospect. Ralph Beckett saddles a horse who was runner-up at Newbury last time out. This was over seven furlongs on heavy ground and might perform even better on a firmer surface. There was previously a victory at Newmarket back in September.

Rebel’s Gamble has been in the winners’ enclosure a number of times this term. Three successes have come on the all-weather although the horse didn’t perform well at Ascot in the latest outing. Sent off as the favourite in the Commonwealth Cup Trial Stakes, the runner finished second-last at the end of April.
