Summer Handicap Results at Goodwood — 02 August 2025

Saturday, 02 August 2025

There’s another big race at Goodwood on Saturday, with Align The Stars having served up a number of strong performances this season and that explains why the horse is likely to go off as favourite. The three-year-old boasts solid credentials and appears to be favourably weighted although this is a competitive encounter.

Fairbanks was able to score on his latest outing and the four-year-old might be able to overcome a heavy handicap setting to record a victory, with the Andrew Balding-trained runner also trading at similar odds, while True Legend and Dancing In Paris are among the horses who are operating at around the 10/1 mark.

2024 Coral Summer Handicap Tips

Align The Stars has clocked up consecutive wins and could be the one to beat in the Coral Summer Handicap, with Charlie Johnston training a three-year-old who could be well weighted for this encounter. The latest outing came at Haydock in early July where the horse was able to oblige at odds of 7/1.

Previously to this, there was a win at Thirsk where ten other runners were defeated in the middle of June, with Joe Fanning on board a horse who was able to claim a victory by over two lengths. Fairbanks could be a viable alternative and the Andrew Balding-trained runner has landed two victories in the last four outings.

The latest success came at Newmarket in July, with the Andrew Balding-trained charge obliging by nearly two lengths in the bet365 Trophy, with this coming after a fairly solid run at Ascot in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes. Sixth place out of nineteen runners was pretty impressive and there was a runner-up spot at Hamilton.

True Legend comes next in the market and the runner is without a win the previous four outings although Dancing In Paris has had more success, with two wins and two runner-up spots coming in six outings. Ian Williams saw his horse secure the spoils at Newbury when finishing fourth out of ten runners in late July.
