Goodwood Summer Handicap Betting Tips

The Highclere Castle Gin Summer Handicap is the opening race on the Goodwood Saturday card, with the runners and riders needing plenty of stamina over a mile and six furlongs. There are fourteen horses going to post and Valedictory could be the one to beat. The horse has run four times this season and the last two efforts have resulted in a victory.

There was a May win at Goodwood over the same distance where the 11/4 favourite was able to clinch a success by one and a half lengths. Then the horse was able to secure the spoils at Newmarket fairly recently. In the Betway Trophy, the runner was able to see off a big outsider to return to the winners’ enclosure and we’re happy to go with the same horse again.

Sing Us A Song has yet to score this season although the Ralph Beckett-trained runner has produced some solid performances. There was a third placed finish at Epsom in May before finishing second at York shortly afterwards. At Royal Ascot, the four-year-old gave a good account of himself in the Copper Horse Stakes to finish fifth in a field of sixteen.

Aeronautic was third at the beginning of the season, with that coming at Meydan in January. The horse was less successful at the same track a month later, although there was a bold showing at Royal Ascot in June. In the Copper Horse Stakes, the runner was able to hit the frame in a competitive handicap race and another strong effort could be on the cards.
