2023 Lester Piggott Stakes Betting Odds at Haydock Park racecourse

Saturday, 10 June 2023

Time Lock has been runner-up on three successive occasions although perhaps the four-year-old can finally break his duck, with Harry & Roger Charlton having a lively chance where Ryan Moore is likely to be on board. Eternal Pearl is another runner who has to be respected and there were plenty of victories for this Godolphin horse last time out.

Mimikyu will be carrying more weight but can’t be discounted with Frankie Dettori on board a runner who is trained by John & Thady Gosden. Roger Varian also has a couple of interesting horses, with Modaara and Peripatetic lining up against the field, with eleven runners set to go to post and most of them have a lively chance.

2023 Lester Piggott Stakes Tips

There are half a dozen horses trading at single figure racing odds when it comes to the Lester Piggott Stakes, with Time Lock having finished second in his previous three outings. There was a second-placed finish in the Parbold Fillies’ Novices Stakes a year ago before the horse was runner-up to Haskoy over one mile and four furlongs at York last August.

Eternal Pearl was disappointing when running in the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes, with the horse finishing second last although Charlie Appleby had seen his charge previously secure four consecutive victories. The latest of these was a win in the Princess Royal Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Stakes at Newmarket back in September.

Mimikyu actually beat Time Lock a year ago at Haydock Park and has to be respected based on that achievement, with the horse more recently lining up in the William Hill Bronte Cup Fillies’ Stakes where the filly was beaten by a short head when losing out to River Of Stars. However, there was a victory in the Coral Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes.

Modaara has enjoyed back to back victories coming into this encounter, with the horse having comfortably obliged as the 4/9 favourite when winning by thirteen lengths over one mile and four furlongs on the Kempton all-weather. This came after an all-weather win at Chelmsford over one mile and two furlongs and chances have to be respected.
