2023 Reverence Handicap Stakes Tips
All The King’s Men has been away from the winners’ enclosure on the past few outings, although perhaps the five-year-old can land a victory at Haydock on Saturday. A third-placed finish at Epsom took place in early June when the horse performed well in a twelve-runner field over one mile and half a furlong, with the horse previously third at Thirsk over seven furlongs.
Shobiz was successful at Newbury Racecourse last month, with the five-year-old able to win by a single length in a six-furlong handicap race. That came after a third-placed finish at Goodwood Racecourse in early May, with the horse likely to be suited by the distance and the same applies to Chairmanoftheboard. Jack Channon will hope that there’s an improvement on the last outing.
A six-furlong encounter at Ascot Racecourse might not have been beneficial considering there were soft ground conditions, with the horse previously performing to a much higher mark when finishing second in the Howden Handicap over six furlongs. That run at Newmarket was a strong showing, while Hyperfocus could be another one for the shortlist.
Hyperfocus had a couple of second-placed finishes at Haydock and York towards the end of last season, with the horse going one better on 29 April when landing a victory at Ripon. In the Ripon Silver Sprint Trophy Handicap over five furlongs on the soft, the Tim Easterby-trained charge was able to find an extra gear and his chances have to be respected.
