Silver Bowl Results at Haydock Park — 23 May 2026

Saturday, 23 May 2026

Crest Of Fire and Laureate Crown have both won this season and they've been installed among the favourites to win the William Hill Silver Bowl Handicap. This is the second Haydock Park race on Saturday, with the runners and riders competing over a mile. However, we prefer the chances of Princling who runs for William Haggas.

There's been money for the three-year-old who was a winner on a seasonal debut. At a bigger price, King Of Earth is worth considering from an each-way point-of-view. However, it was Lighting Thunder who was in the winners' enclosure last time out. Astrazar and Langstone are other strong contenders for this weekend showdown.

2026 William Hill Silver Bowl Handicap Betting Tips

Princling could well be a steamer when it comes to the William Hill Silver Bowl Handicap. The horse has been punted in during the week, with the first outing being a runner-up spot on the all-weather at Kempton Park. This was back in October and the horse then claimed another second place when running in a field of fifteen horses at Newmarket.

The seasonal debut was a winning one at Wetherby where the 1/4 favourite made no mistake to oblige by nearly two lengths. That was in a one-mile novice stakes although this is clearly a sterner test. Even so, the weight allowance has been a favourable one and perhaps the horse can take full advantage. We think it's a good each-way selection.

At a similar price, we have two other horses. Crest Of Fire returned for the new season with a success on the all-weather. The Jack Channon-trained runner was able to score on the all-weather at Southwell at the end of March. It was hardly a surprise as the 2/5 favourite, with some smart performances coming at Doncaster and Ffos Las last year.

Laureate Crown is bidding for a consecutive hat-trick of wins and the Hugo Palmer-trained runner has to be considered. There was an all-weather success at Wolverhampton back in March and this was followed by a win at Sandown Park last month. The 7/1 shot claimed the spoils in the Esher Cup Handicap over a mile.
