2025 December Hurdle Betting Tips
Lossiemouth looks practically unbeatable right now and that explains why the horse is trading at strong odds-on for the December Hurdle. The mare tends to win if she stays on her feet, with the six-year-old having won three on the bounce. The Mares' Hurdle victory at the Cheltenham Festival was a procession and won by seven and a half lengths.
Then came an Aintree success in early April when obliging in the Aintree Hurdle over two miles and four furlongs. More recently, Lossiemouth demonstrated her very solid credentials by obliging in the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown. That came over two miles, half a furlong, with the runner clearly the one to beat here.
Wodhooh was a winner at Ascot at the end of November and could be capable of a big run here. The Gordon Elliott-trained five-year-old was able to oblige by two and a half lengths in an encounter over two miles, three and a half furlongs. She only has less than three lengths to find on Lossiemouth based on their head-to-head but that was over a longer distance.
Even so, the 6/5 favourite jumped brilliantly to win the Ladbrokes Ascot Hurdle by two and a half lengths. This is a horse that won the Martin Pipe Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival back in March, with Anzadam another who can make an impact. The five-year-old is another Mullins runner although whether he can usurp the two leading fillies remains to be seen.
2024 Neville Hotels Hurdle Tips
State Man is a seriously classy contender and the horse will go off as the odds-on favourite for the Neville Hotels Hurdle, with the seven-year-old clearly the one to beat. However, the runner was beaten on his seasonal debut and it will be interesting to see whether he can produce an improvement in this festive encounter.
Previously to this race, there was a success at Punchestown and that came after a Champion Hurdle victory at the Cheltenham Festival, with a string of victories being enjoyed. There’s lots to like about this highly-rated encounter although Brighterdaysahead was able to topple him in that recent clash.
The five-year-old also has scope for improvement in this clash, with the horse having enjoyed consecutive victories which started with a triumph at Down Royal in early November before toppling State Man at Punchestown. Back in April, there was a success at Aintree where a big victory was recorded over two miles and four furlongs.
The horse also ran in the Cheltenham Festival where a second-placed finish happened in the Mares’ Novices Hurdle and the mares allowance could have a big bearing here. We’re also seeing Lossiemouth on the card although it’s open to question as to whether she’ll take her place considering that there are multiple festive engagements.
