2024 Al Quoz Sprint Betting Odds at Meydan racecourse

Saturday, 30 March 2024

The bookies make the Al Quoz Sprint a wide open encounter and perhaps Star Of Mystery will go off favourite, with the horse finishing second in a recent Meydan encounter. The Charlie Appleby-trained charge has been impressive in the past few outings, with victories having come at the same track and he has to have solid each-way claims.

However, Regional could be a lively contender and there’s also California Spangle and Diligent Harry who could make an impression. This is definitely an open encounter and there could be a shout for Casa Creed who has the ability to run a big race. This six furlong encounter is sure to be fast and furious.

2024 Al Quoz Sprint Tips

The Al Quoz Sprint is a Group One encounter that takes place at Meydan Racecourse, with this race having been in operation since 2007. This Dubai World Cup race takes place over 1,200 metres and it will be interesting to see which horse follows in the footsteps of Extravagant Kid, A Case Of You and Danyah.

Star Of Mystery hasn’t been out of the first two in his past three races at Meydan, with the horse claiming a victory at Meydan in January, with twelve other runners beaten and it was a case of history repeating two weeks later. The win in the Al Wasl Stakes was followed by a success in the Blue Point Sprint Stakes.

Regional runs for Edward Bethell and the six-year-old has an impressive record when it comes to UK form, with the horse having beaten fifteen other rivals in September when winning the Betfair Sprint Cup Stakes. This was an impressive showing over six furlongs, with the horse previously finishing fifth in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York.

California Spangle has to be respected based on the form we’ve seen from the charge at Sha Tin, with a victory being landed in Hong Kong in March. On that occasion, the horse was able to oblige by a length when beating Galaxy Patch and Red Lion. The runner previously finished fourth out of eight runners in the Stewards’ Cup.

2023 Al Quoz Sprint Tips

Al Dasim looks like a worthy favourite to win the Al Quoz Sprint although the big question is whether this talented horse can be the first ever three-year-old winner of this showdown. There will be plenty of backers when it comes to this runner landing the spoils at Meydan Racecourse and there have been a string of impressive performances leading up to this race.

Most recently, the runner obliged in the Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint over six furlongs at Meydan Racecourse, with that two length victory making a big statement. That came after Al Dasim obliged as the odds-on favourite when winning the Dubai Trophy, with the runner also able to win the Al Wasl Stakes on 13 January.

However, Al Suhail is trading as the second favourite to win this encounter and there is plenty to recommend a horse who has secured several victories over the years. The fact that the six-year-old has more experience than the race favourite means that it could end up being a telling factor and the Godolphin horse has won back to back races.

Both of these victories came at Meydan, with Al Suhail landing a four length victory when winning the Ras Al Khor and that came over seven furlongs. This will be a stiffer trip for a runner who really announced himself in the Al Fahidi Fort over seven furlongs on 6 January, with that being a four length victory and this could be the best value bet in the race.
