2025 Hungerford Stakes Betting Tips
There has been money for More Thunder when it comes to the Hungerford Stakes and it’s hardly a surprise considering that the horse has been racking up the wins this season. There was a success in the bet365 Bunbury Cup when obliging as the 6/5 favourite and that came after narrowly missing out on a victory in the Wokingham Stakes.
Previously to this, there was a double success at Newmarket. In early May, there was a triumph in the Betfred Handicap when the 11/4 favourite secured a success by a short head. This came after claiming the spoils at the same track over six furlongs. The win rate for this horse suggests that he could go close this time around.
Notable Speech has yet to taste a victory this term. The Charlie Appleby-trained charge has a high official rating and finished fifth out of fourteen horses in the Dubai July Cup Stakes. That came after finishing fourth from a field of ten in the Queen Anne Stakes over a mile and there was a similar finish in the Lockinge Stakes before this.
King’s Gamble could be worth a gamble after finishing second in a previous showing. The horse was able to land that runner-up spot out of eleven horses at Newbury. It was the first outing in nearly a year and perhaps there is more to come. Spy Chief is a younger adversary who was seventh out of fourteen runners in the July Cup Stakes.
2024 Hungerford Stakes Tips
Lake Forest has looked rock solid this season, with the three-year-old having finished second out of nine runners at Newbury last time out. In the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes, the horse was narrowly beaten by favourite Elite Status and this came after finishing second to Inisherin in the Commonwealth Cup.
English Oak runs for trainer Ed Walker, with the four-year-old finishing fourth last time out after claiming successive wins. There was a strong performance in the Buckingham Palace Handicap at Royal Ascot when the horse was able to oblige as the favourite, with the runner having claimed the spoils at Haydock in his previous encounter.
Kikkuli was able to secure a win in his seasonal debut last season, with the Harry Charlton-trained charge able to claim a victory in the Alex Scott Maiden Stakes over seven furlongs. That was a 5/2 success and it was followed by successive runner-up performances, with the horse more recently sixth in a Group One encounter at Deauville.
Poet Master was able to score two victories this season, with Karl Burke training a four-year-old who was able to score at The Curragh towards the end of July. In the Minstrel Stakes over seven furlongs, it was an impressive showing and there was previously a success over Newmarket when travelling well over seven furlongs.
