2024 Mettal UK Handicap Stakes Tips
There are several horses trading at single figure odds when it comes to the Mettal UK Handicap, with Naqeeb trading as the favourite and there could be more to come from the William Haggas-trained charge. However, an improvement is needed after finishing twelfth out of sixteen horses at Royal Ascot last month.

Kyle Of Lochalsh has been in the winners’ enclosure this season and the four-year-old could well be in the mix for Hughie Morrison. There was a third-placed showing in the Ascot Stakes in June and that came after winning at Salisbury. Dancing In Paris can’t be disregarded and there has been a spate of strong showings this term.
2023 Mettal UK Handicap Tips
Nathanael Greene could well be sent off as the betting favourite to win the Mettal UK Handicap, with the four-year-old having run well in the Northumberland Plate on 1 July. Sent off as the 9/2 joint-favourite, the runner finished fourth and missed out by two and a half lengths, with the horse finishing fourth out of eight runners at Goodwood.
Sweet William runs for John & Thady Gosden, with the horse previously obliging as the 8/11 favourite in a Novice Stakes race at Doncaster Racecourse. The runner was also close to a victory on the all-weather at Southwell over one mile and three furlongs when finishing second, although is a race where an each-way betting selection could pay off.
Novel Legend could well build on a solid finish at Royal Ascot when finishing seventh in the Ascot Stakes over two miles and four furlongs, with it being no surprise if the horse is at the business end of the tussle. The runner was sent off as the 11/8 favourite in the Chester Plate Handicap before finishing second on 12 May.
Hadrianus ran in the Northumberland Vase Handicap when finishing seventh out of fourteen runners and trainer Charlie Johnston saw the horse finish low down the order in the Queen’s Vase although this race should be less competitive. Post Impressionist was well down the order last time out at Newcastle but is another of the favourites here.
