Getreadytorumble could be the one to beat when it comes to this five furlong dash at Newbury Racecourse. Jack Channon trains a horse who has posted two victories this term and hasn’t been out of the first three in the past five efforts. The three-year-old was a winner at Brighton at the beginning of June before a success at Goodwood later that month.
More recently, the Jack Channon-trained charge finished third out of seven runners at Sandown Park in the Baatash Handicap at Sandown Park. There was a very solid effort in the Buccellati Handicap at Goodwood over five furlongs on heavy ground. However, the charge is carrying plenty of weight and it might pay to consider an alternative.
Blue Day might not have produced too many impressive performances this term, although there was a success at Ascot at the end of April. That came before finishing runner-up at Haydock Park although the horse could only finish twelfth last time out. Perhaps there are better each-way alternatives lining up for this short distance encounter.
Moulin Booj is an interesting runner who was a winner in the previous encounter. The five-year-old was able to score at Thirsk last time out. This came in the five furlong Summer Celebration Handicap and was an improvement after finishing fifth out of eight runners at Newmarket in the middle of July. However, that was in the more competitive Boodles Handicap.
