2023 Wentworth Stakes Betting Odds at Newcastle racecourse

Saturday, 11 November 2023

Sense Of Duty could be all the rage when it comes to the Wentworth Stakes this weekend, although the bookies think there are a number of decent each-way chances. Kinta, Significantly and Brad The Brief are all lively contenders, with as many as fourteen runners competing over a distance of six furlongs.

We’re interested to see how the betting market pans out as we get closer to the off, with money potentially coming for the William Haggas-trained market leader, especially with Cieran Fallon on board. However, many of his best efforts came in the previous season and perhaps there could be merit in opposing the favourite.

2023 Wentworth Stakes Tips

Sense Of Duty has been installed at the head of the betting market for the Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Wentworth Stakes on Saturday 11 November and that’s despite an underwhelming performance last time out. Running in the British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot, the horse was only able to finish tenth although this was admittedly a high grade affair and perhaps he’ll have more joy this weekend.

Earlier in the year, there were consecutive wins for the same horse at Redcar, Haydock and Newcastle Racecourse, with the horse then finishing third out of five runners in a five-furlong Group 3 encounter at Newbury Racecourse. Perhaps he will find Kinta as the most stubborn rival and there’s plenty to recommend a horse who was able to land a victory last time out.

The three-year-old claimed a victory out of ten runners at Newmarket in a Fillies’ Handicap and the George Boughey-trained horse might well benefit from recent wind surgery. Significantly is an older challenger who was able to win a competitive race at Ayr back in September. The Gold Cup victory was achieved by a neck and there could be more to come.

The Julie Camacho-trained runner nearly followed up this win with another notable victory when finishing second in the Coral Sprint Trophy Handicap, with the horse demonstrating credentials over six furlongs on soft ground, with Brad The Brief bidding for a first win of the campaign and there was a smart performance at Chantilly last time out.
