2023 Draught Cyder Handicap Betting Odds at Newmarket racecourse

Saturday, 20 May 2023

There’s an excellent racecard at Newmarket on Saturday and one of the feature races is the Aspall Suffolk Draught Cyder Handicap where some of the talented three-year-olds will aim to land a victory over six furlongs. Clive Cox saddles Eminency and the horse has credentials to claim a win after a fairly impressive showing last time out.

However, Revenite has won on his past two outings and can’t be easily discounted, with Expert Agent coming into this race off the back of three straight wins. Washington Heights is another interesting horse for an affair where the horse racing betting sites are sure to have some eye-catching price boosts and extra places from an each-way perspective.

2023 Aspall Suffolk Draught Cyder Handicap Tips

Eminency is vying for favouritism at the head of the betting market for the Aspall Suffolk Draught Cyder Handicap, with the Clive Cox-trained runner having finished fourth last time out. Sent off as the 7/4 favourite in a handicap race on the all-weather at Kempton Park, the horse was beaten in a close finish although the runner was badly squeezed at the start.

Perhaps better things are to come for a horse that had previously finished third in a race at Goodwood in October, with a decent showing in a two-year-old stakes race at Doncaster also putting this horse on the map. Some punters might instead prefer the chances of Revenite who landed consecutive wins last September and will be aiming to pick up from there.

Roger Varian saw his horse claim a victory in a Restricted Novice Stakes last time out when being sent off as warm favourite, with the horse previously winning at a much bigger price over six furlongs on good ground. More is expected of this runner, while Expert Agent also had the winning habit in previous outings and certainly has claims of a sort here.

Since the turn of the year, it has been three straight wins starting with a victory on the all-weather at Kempton Racecourse, with then successive triumphs coming at Lingfield. A 5/2 win in a three-year-old handicap race on the all-weather means that the horse might be capable of not only running into a place but winning this contest.
