2026 Suffolk Stakes Betting Tips
Mister Winston produced a smart performance to win at Newmarket last time out. Sent off as the 9/4 favourite in the April encounter, the horse was able to make all to land a victory. This was an improvement on the previous showing at the same track. A September performance saw the horse finish well down the pecking order although that was in the competitive Cambridgeshire.
Bullet Point and Eternal Force both run for William Haggas and the bookies can't split them in terms of racing odds. The former is the top weight in the race and was last seen running at Rosehill back in November. He made little impression in the Australian encounter after struggling in August at York although that was preceded by a win at the Knavesmire.
Eternal Force has clocked up three straight victories and these came at the back end of the previous campaign. There was an August success at Redcar and there was a much smarter win a month later at Newbury when fourteen contenders were fended off. A three length triumph was landed in a Haydock Park handicap before a recent seventh place in a big field at Doncaster.
Andrew Balding doesn't just have Mister Winston, The Lost King is also a viable contender and the four-year-old has run four times on the all-weather this term. The latest effort came in early April when the horse finished third in a field of fourteen. That came after a success at Wolverhampton and there's every chance that the horse hits the frame.

Hand Of God has won his previous three races and now lines up in the Suffolk Stakes as the likely favourite to win this race. The four-year-old should be capable of going close at Newmarket, with the runner last seen claiming the spoils at Ascot last June. Sent off as the favourite in the Golden Gates Stakes, there was a fine victory over one mile and two furlongs.
This came after a success at Sandown Park and there was previously a win at Newmarket. This horse could continue on an upward trajectory although this is a competitive race. Arabian Light certainly can’t be discounted and Charlie Appleby will feel as though his horse can be in the final shake-up after some previously bright displays.
It's always hard to compare form in Meydan compared to the UK tracks, although the Godolphin charge was able to score in a field of sixteen runners last time out. That was in early February where the odds-on favourite claimed a slender victory. This came after finishing third out of sixteen at the same track back in January.
Approval was able to win two of his last three outings of the season last term, with William Haggas saddling a runner who is carrying notably less weight than the first two in the betting. There was a success last August at Goodwood where the 11/2 shot won over one mile and two furlongs, with that coming after a midfield performance in the Golden Gates Stakes.
2024 Suffolk Stakes Tips
We’re looking forward to the William Hill Suffolk Stakes where there are any number of potential winners when it comes to this race. It comes down to a quality mix of speed and stamina, with Torito having shone at times last season and the last showing saw the horse finish fourth in the Hampton Court Stakes in a field of sixteen runners.
Previously to this came a win at Epsom Racecourse where the horse was able to win the Lester Piggott Handicap over one mile and two furlongs, although the betting market outlines that any number of runners could compete well. Liberty Lane is prominent in the betting and the horse was last seen finishing midfield at Doncaster.
That came in the Lincoln Handicap where the 5/1 shot delivered an underwhelming performance, with Dutch Decoy running for Charlie Johnston and the seven-year-old has more experience than several of the other leading contenders. The horse was last seen finishing second at Newmarket last month.
Theoryofeverything was fourth in a recent encounter and the four-year-old could go well for trainer David O’Meara, with that performance coming in a field of seventeen runners. It was Hafeet Alain who was the winner of that race and the Ed Walker-trained charge could be the best bet of all, especially at such big odds.

Jimi Hendrix ran very recently and it will be interesting whether the Ralph Beckett-trained runner is able to secure another win so quickly after this success. Sent off at odds of 9/2, the horse was able to land the spoils in the Spring Cup Handicap and beat favourite Lattam into second, with the latter trading as the 2/1 favourite for success.
King Of Conquest is a four-year-old who has previously run well in Bahrain although it’s difficult to see how the horse will fare back on English soil, with Charlie Appleby’s charge having won the Anchorman Cup over one mile and one furlong. It will be a different type of test for a horse who won a handicap race at Wolverhampton back at the end of November.
Empirestateofmind has had a string of runner-up positions recently and perhaps that is a concern for any punter looking to back the John Quinn-trained charge, although the flip side of the argument is that the horse is capable of running into a place on a frequent basis. In the Close Brothers Handicap at Newbury on 18 April, the horse was narrowly touched off over a mile.
Majestic was able to hit the frame in a big field at Doncaster, with the Jack Channon-trained runner finishing just three lengths behind eventual winner Migration in the Pertemps Network Lincoln over one mile on heavy ground. However, we can’t rule out a big run considering the 25/1 success in the bet365 Cambridgeshire Handicap.
