2024 Coral Distaff Betting Odds at Sandown Park racecourse

Saturday, 06 July 2024

There are a handful of horses trading at single figure betting odds in the Coral Distaff, with Soprano the one that is operating at the shortest odds right now. The three-year-old has steadily improved as the season has worn on, with Clove Hitch running for Andrew Balding and Ryan Moore could possibly ride this runner to a victory.

Kitty Rose has enjoyed two outings this season and the three-year-old could go well for Mick Price and Michael Kent, with Regal Jubilee having scored two runner-up performances this term. Indelible has been in the winners’ enclosure this season and Unreasonable is also one for the shortlist after hitting the frame twice this term.

2024 Coral Distaff Tips

Soprano is favourite to win the 2024 Coral Distaff, with the horse having produced a fine performance to land a victory at the Royal Ascot meeting. In a field of thirty runners, there was a 14/1 triumph when edging outsider Strutting, with the horse obliging over a mile in the Sandringham Stakes when running an excellent race.

Clove Hitch was victorious on a previous showing, with the horse claiming a win when being sent off as the 4/6 favourite at Newbury in a Fillies’ Novice Stakes, with this coming after finishing second at Windsor when running against eleven other runners. There was also a third-placed finish out of seventeen horses at Newbury.

Kitty Rose has been seen running twice this season, finishing second on her seasonal debut when narrowly missing out at Leopardstown over seven furlongs. This came before a fifth-placed finish in the Sandringham Stakes at Ascot where the runner was sent off as the 7/2 favourite, with Sean Levey on board this talented horse.

Regal Jubilee has registered two runner-up placings this season, with the latest performance coming at Goodwood. Over one mile and two furlongs, there was a solid showing after the filly finding things too hot to handle in the 1000 Guineas Stakes, although there could be a higher placing this time around.

The bookmakers are taking no chances with their quote about Coppice winning this encounter, with the three-year-old having been in impressive form this season. Last time out, the runner was steered to victory by Frankie Dettori in the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot as the 6/1 joint-favourite. Perhaps we’ll see a similar performance here.

The winning feeling started in a Novice Stakes at Newcastle when a facile victory was achieved on the all-weather, although that one length win at Ascot really was laying down a marker, with Breege finishing second on that occasion and perhaps the horse is primed to run another strong race at Sandown Park this weekend.

Silver Lady runs in the Godolphin colours and has been shown plenty of respect, with Charlie Appleby seeing his runner finishing third in the Oaks Farm Stable Fillies’ Stakes when being sent off as the 2/1 favourite although it was a close encounter over one mile. This came after a winner in the Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket.

Breege could come on leaps and bounds, with only one length separating the horse from Coppice in that previous race. Let’s not forget that the horse ran a credible race when finishing seventh in the Irish 1,000 Guineas and the runner was sent off at 50/1 on that occasion after some bright form at Longchamp at October.
