2023 Virgin Bet Handicap Betting Odds at Sandown Park racecourse

Saturday, 02 September 2023

We’re all set for the Sandown Park encounter over one mile and two furlongs, with a number of runners trading at single figure prices. This includes Finest Leader and the Harry & Roger Charlton-trained charge looking to continue a winning run which has now spanned three races. Gaassee has yet to land a victory this term but perhaps this is where he shines.

Killybegs Warrior has won one of the six races that the horse has lined up in this season, with Eagle’s Way having been fairly lightly-raced and looks a potentially attractive each-way price. The Whipmaster is a five-year-old who could also feature prominently, while Educator has the potential to go well for trainer William Haggas.

2023 Virgin Bet Handicap Tips

Trainer William Haggas could hold the key in this horse race, with the handler having Gaassee lining up as one of the main contenders, while Educator could also run well in the royal colours. It will be interesting to see which way the market goes, with the former having registered back to back fourth-placed finishes at Haydock and Ayr.

The horse was sent off as the 11/8 favourite in the John Guest Racing Handicap before finishing midfield out of seven runners, with the same position being attained when finishing fourth in the bet365 Old Newton Cup Handicap. Meanwhile, Educator is still bidding to taste a victory this term.

Seventh place out of fourteen runners occurred in the Sky Bet Handicap at York Racecourse on 25 August, with Finest Leader perhaps the one to beat. There was a win at Weatherby in early June over one mile and two furlongs, while there was then a handicap victory over one mile and two furlongs at Newbury Racecourse in early July.

Killybegs Warrior is a three-year-old who also has a lively each-way chance, with the horse finishing fourth in the Sky Bet Finale Handicap over one mile, two and a half furlongs. The runner also performed reasonably well at betting odds of 33/1 when running in the competitive Coral Kincsem Handicap over one mile and two furlongs.
